When a watch is reduced to only the most basic of design vocabulary, one of a few things tends to happen. They can be stark and cold, like something spit out by a machine. With watches that are stripped down to little more than line and tone, Stock has managed to create a blissfully minimal line that have a surprising amount of charm.A quick glance at the S001, Stock's first series, might bring to mind the watches of Max Bill, Braun and Uniform Wares. With simple cylindrical cases, straight lugs, clean dials and stick hands they clearly all share a Bauhaus aesthetic, Max Bill of course being largely the source. newbie with Hamilton military/canteen questions
Hello all from the newest and probably most ignorant member of this forum. I recently decided after my Rolex Daytona was ready for its third 700 dollar servicing, that I needed a watch that was easier to maintain. I began looking at wwII era watches...as a lover of history, and I stumbled upon the canteen watches by Hamilton and Elgin. I liked the Hamiltons appearance, and I also liked that they were first...and more likely to have seen service in the war. I bought a watch recently, and it seems to be correct in every aspect, (crystal, movement, hands, case, markings, dust cover) but the dial, which is clearly not new, is exactly like the other canteens I have seen, but it does not have the USN BUSHIPS in white. It does have the name Hamilton stamped in black above the 6. I have exchanged several emails with a very helpful gentleman in CA who may be on this forum, also, and he says he believes that the dial cannot be original. My question is: Has anyone seen or owned a Ham. can

A Comparison of Two Chronographs Along with Two Women we Adore¡­
The first candidate is the Bulova VC200 Chronograph. It has the outward appearance of a diver and sports the Valjoux 7750 movement. The case measures about 43mm wide and is about 14mm thick. It has a screw down crown and the lugs are drilled. Currently out of production, example can be found even today on the ¡¯Bay for under $1K. Omega seamaster slider screw
Newbie so apologies if this is wrong section.My problem is that the slider screw in the bracelet came adrift .I have managed to locate a new one but when I fitted it the slider still came off.Does anybody know what I am doing wrong or can you point me in the right direction.Regards
