What did I do to my Speedmaster?!
I've got a 1967 Omega Speedmaster Professional, handed down from my father. I was wearing it on my trip this past weekend and, evidently, hit it on something while working my way to my flight in Minneapolis. I say evidently because when I got situated in my seat I checked the time and it was off by a large margin. I buckled up, secured my bag and checked my watch again, and it was an entirely different time. I pulled the watch off my wrist and saw the main hands swinging all over the dial! Still attached but not controlled by anything.I pulled out the crown and got some movement via the crown but only going backwards. There was little to no movement going forwards via the crown.What did I do?!I had the watch in a local shop recently. They had it 7 months, replacing the main spring and cleaning it up. I don't know if the current state of the watch is something for which they may be responsible, nor do I really want to take it back there. But they took 7 months of my life and $70

AP Diver, to bracelet or not?

In praise of a "Beater" Seamaster 2225.80
I wonder if I'm alone in my thinking, but as I've gotten deeper and deeper into horology, I wonder if I have been too caught up in the thinking of only iconic watches with in-house or excellent movements. I've acquired a Panerai 121 with an El Primero movement, Bretiling Navitimer 01 LE, Speedmaster 9300, and AP Royal Oak 25860 Chronograph. I love these watches and enjoy wearing them. But I needed a watch that I could wear around the house, traveling, or in the pool/water without worrying. So my thoughts turn to a cheaper, durable, water resistant chronograph (I'm a chronograph-only nut) and I eventually bought a blue dialed Seamaster 2225.80 as my beater.So the first thing I noticed when I got it is that it was really a great-looking watch. The blue dial, red accents and overall looks/proportions look tailor made for my wrist. The wave pattern reminds me a bit of my AP which can look slightly different in different lighting. Omega Lost & Stolen?
Hi,Does anyone know if Omega operates a lost and stolen database like Rolex do? This question primarily relates to the UK, I'm not sure a worldwide database exists in any case?I've just had DHL deliver a ¡ê2K watch to the wrong address and they have tried twice to retrieve it and the person has refused to open the door and is not picking up any calls (she is one of their clients as she sent a package with them weeks earlier). DHL have just washed their hands off this and told me to claim - even if I'm paid without any nonsense, the insurance claim does not cover the loss as the maximum liability was below the watch's value. TBH, I'm quite amazed with the ease with which DHL have given up on this package and asked me to claim (I sent this via Interparcel) with my agent, thus literally enabling theft. I am planning to pursue this with local police, but just wanted to query if Omega had a stolen database so I could alert them and also ask you to avoid sending your valuables by DHL, especia
