Cartier Cartier 50866 wrist watches news:
Did you ever place a bid on a watch, not expecting to win it, and then you did - but then you find yourself wondering why you were able to win that, since identical watches sold for a lot more? Then you wonder why you got it so cheap, and whether there's some horrible flaw that all the cognoscenti saw that you missed? That's where I am today. I just won an auction I didn't expect to, because my maximum bid was only a little over $75 for an example of a watch that sold for $130 last week (I know - I was 2nd highest bidder!), and has gone for as much as $300 in the last 6 months.I even checked Watchcount, and there were 25 people watching this auction. And I lowballed it and won. Now I won't be happy until I see with my own eyes that the watch is worth it.Ah, well. It could be worse. Instead of a Lord Elgin, it could be something like an Omega Pie Pan Constellation!
I have been lazy and using my point and shoot and all my other watches seem to let me get buy with it. For some reason this Boulton just does not. I guess I am going to have to break out the SLR but not until this weekend. Here is what I think of the watch. Fit and finish is excellent and you can not even feel it on your wrist. In that area, I am just a little disappointed. It is extremely lite (it is a quartz) but much liter than other quartz I have relatively the same size. Makes you feel like they went thin on the metal. If you like the style of watches out of the 40's you will love this! I keep glancing down at my wrist and smile as it has the look of the watches my father wore when I was growing up. In fact although I find manuals worrisome (having to wind) I believe if I could have opted for this watch as a manual, I would have done that just to have it more like the watch from it's era.4.5 stars out of 5. I am glad I got this watch and would recommend it to anyone that likes the s
Happy to join the AP family. Been considering an AP for a while -- but wasn't sure which one and finally pulled the trigger when on a business trip in Hong Kong at an AD there.Just got back and only time for a quick iPhone pic -- but looking forward to learning more about the watch. I am already thinking about getting a bracelet for it as I've seen some of the other pics in this forum with the Diver on a bracelet and it looks great! Does AP make a bracelet to fit this new model with the sapphire caseback? If so -- will any ROO bracelet fit? And how hard is it to change the strap? Thanks,Ed
This may be a silly question but something i have struggled with a bit. I need to travel out of town for a wedding--- in spring. I will spend some extra time with friends and family. I am going for a wedding and I will likely have to walk down the isle and wear a tuxedo. I am generally not a high fashion guy but I wanted to know opinion if wearing a Patek 5164 would be inappropriate. I have more formal watches like a Lange Timezone 1 and Journe CS both in RG and the later on a black strap. But because most of my time will be in informal settings I would feel more comfortable with my Patek 5164 or even Patek 5712 (both SS). I realize the Patek is on a rubber strap but it is black and will folks even notice.. it is black.. I also do not like taking extra watches with me. Has anyone worn an aquanaut in a similar situation?
