One original portrait of Picasso is coming up for sale via Christie's this afternoon witha pre-sale estimate of $5000-$7000.Why are we telling you this, you may be wondering?? Well, in this particular portrait, you can see Mr. Picasso wearing one heck of a nice watch.? What is it? It's a late 1940s Jaeger-LeCoultre triple date moonphase with teardrop lugs, one of JLC's most beautiful designs.? Ski season is here... with Linde Werdelin?
It's cold out, really cold out. But with the cold comes winter activities and the ski season I've been waiting for since last April. I've noticed Linde Werdelin is making ski inspired watches as well as some actually functional ski equipment. (Not sure I'd leave the lodge with one of those on my wrist...) Though their watches are not necessarily what I'm presently interested in purchasing, I thought it would be interesting to here some more experienced collectors comment on the relatively young brand.For fun, a challenge; can anyone think of another winter inspired watch? If no others really exist, what other watches seem most suited for winter sports?

Incoming!!!!! Finally Got It!
So I want to celebrate my 1000th post with a very special incoming. I¡¯ve waited to get this watch for almost a year. Last year I planned on getting it when abroad on holiday and while looking around I stumbled into a Rolex AD, as you do, and came out with the BLNR...on my birthday no less, even though other Rolex Boutiques earlier were saying they don¡¯t have any, so I couldn¡¯t pass on the opportunity as it felt right. Anyway! So then comes January and I end up with an AP RO, and the Panerai gets left behind again but still very much on my mind. So many months later, I¡¯m focused on trying to make it happen with the purchase of the Panerai. I was going abroad again and thought I¡¯ll see if I can source something while there. I got in touch with one of my contacts and surely enough he had exactly what I wanted and offered it at an amazing price.So I sorted out payment and I was now the proud owner of a Panerai 422 and back in the Panerai family.
