Hello all, I have been lurking in the forums for a few days and I am glad I have found this site. I have always had an interest in watches but never pursued collecting because I was afraid I would never have the kind of coin to drop on a nice A Lange and Shone or Patek. I have been wearing a Citizen's Chronograph for at least 8 years but I always assumed that these "lesser" Asian brands get no love. After doing a bit of research I have found they are a respectable piece for a new collector and that really got me excited. I am only 28 years old, recently married and don't really want to drop $2500 plus on a new piece at the moment but I would like a respectable watch for under $1000 (and even better would be 2 nice pieces for under $1000). Anyway, to my question.....I have read several stickies but I haven't covered them all so I apologize if you cannot help me with my question but I will ask it anyway.Is there a reputable online dealer to purchase watches from? A few weeks ago, my girlfriend's dad surprised me with this stunning 1907 Waltham Crescent Street pocket watch.It runs great and it keeps better time than my Sub LV! Go figure...Here are some pics.Still no tripod or lightbox so I had to shoot handheld again and use a flash, hence the harsh light.I just could not hold it steady enough using only ambient light.1907 Waltham Crescent Street

Making a move to AP... Concerns!
Hi guys. I've been thinking of making the step up to an AP for my next purchase. However, I'm a bit concerned about the steel bezel picking up dings and scratches. I've seen some preowned models for sale with pretty horrendous gashes in them. Question is what do you guys think? Are they like butter? I'd really appreciate some pics of daily worn roo's etc. there seems to be a lot of pics of brand new ones on the site so far and not many 'lived in' watches.Specifically, I'm thinking of getting either the new 41mm royal oak or a ROO black themes (on bracelet). Any opinions on which would be the best choice between these two?Thanks in advance!
