- Great little watch - I got this watch for my daughter who is quite thin and has a difficult time telling time. She loves it, especially with the cute pink stripe. It just fits with the velcro band and keeps time well.

Do you have a great watchmaker in your area that you trust and rely on when one of your prized timepieces needs a little TLC? Or one that you prefer to patronize when buying a new watch?Since these folks aren't exactly a dime a dozen, I thought it might be a great idea to have a thread where people could post recommendations and mention what city they're in. It would certainly be a help to newbies like me and to the watchmakers, who perhaps could benefit from new customers. I understand we can't post links to vendors that aren't forum-supporters.I'll startWhen I bought my Tissot recently as my first automatic, I was fortunate to have a local AD who has been a watchmaker for over 40 years - Lyle Husar of Lyle Husar Designs in Brookfield, Wisconsin (suburb of Milwaukee). When I first met him when I was a youngster, he had a little shop called the Tic-Tok shop that specialized in watches and clocks, and whenever you'd go in, he'd be there, dressed in lederhosen and working on a watch with
Hello all,As we all know, things occasionally work out unexpectedly. I woke up yesterday intending to go to work for a few hours, but as the week left me tired, added to a slight hangover, I decided not to go. I was prepared to stay in and relax, when I remembered an employee at my local Rolex AD suggesting I check out another store about an hour away from me. With nothing better to do, and a fairly nice day out, I thought of going to see what Patek watches they might have. I've been checking out the the 3700, 5711/1A and 5167A but was yet to see any of these in the metal. Still, an hour is a long drive, so I decided to give them a call, hoping there was a chance there was at least a 5167A I could see to make the trip worth it. To my utter astonishment, the guy says he has a 5711/1A and a 5167A that arrived that very morning. He said it was available, and he sounded almost as shocked as I was. So, I drove down to check it out. I only intended to look, and felt lucky just to get a chanc

Can someone help me learn more about this model like when was it introduce, is there serial numbers base on year of production like Rolex, anything good or bad about this newer in house movement?
