This Week's Theme; 15/0 size Lord Elgins
For this week, I've decided to go with the 15/0 size Lord Elgin watches. The 15/0 movements were introduced in 1938 (according to the old Elgin Database), while the Lord Elgin series of watches were introduced in about 1937. The Lord Elgins were 21j watches at a time when other wristwatches were 17j at most. They came in gold filled and solid gold cases, and were Elgin's top of the line. From 1937 till about 1955, the Lord Elgins had either a round 8/0 movement or the tonneau-shapped 15/0 movement.Today's model is this one from 1938:The dial has been refinished, incorrectly. The Durapower mainspring was not introduced until 1946, so this watch should have a star, instead of the 'dp' logo. I have not been able to find this exact model in any Elgin ads from that time, but since Elgin wasn't naming their models back then, that's not such a big deal.It's running a 538, Elgin's first 21j 15/0 movement:According to the database, these were made only in 1938 and 1939 before being superc

Jomashop Speedmaster deal?
Omega Speedmaster Stainless Steel Mens Watch 311.33.42.30.01.001, saw this watch at Jomashop and thought it was a good deal at 3,149.00. What do you guys think? I am aware that their watches come wo a factory warranty but that doesn't really bother me. This is the 1861, hesalite, 42mm with leather strap, deployment, manual wind, Man on the moon. New in box. Just the specs I am looking for.

Omega customer service- VERY impressed thus far
Just wanted to share my experience with Omega service. I picked up a used Omega Planet Ocean Titanium 42mm 3 weeks ago. I already own a PO LMLE, but thought it would be cool in blue- and it is! I love the titanium and took it on a trip with me last week. Day 2 of the trip- the crystal fogged up. I contacted Omega via some email addresses and on instagram (when I had wifi), but did not have a computer nor real usable internet- so I could not report it via their website and ask what to do after the emails bounced back. Fast forward a week- I took the watch to Omega in NYC. They did a pressure test on the watch and said that it is air-tight and there is no way a seal failed. Basically- it is my fault and the crown may have been left open slightly. I told them that it is unlikely but not impossible I guess. They said I'd have to pay for a full service and it would take 8 weeks- I was perturbed and I mentioned that I felt it was probably not my fault as I am careful with my pieces. About an
