seiko bezel.JPGI'm trying to find a source for parts on my watch. I was given this watch in 1971, and wore it religiously all through the 70's and 80's until finally finally putting her back in the box for some much needed rest! Well, after all these years I'm trying to her her back in original condition, give or take. I've been trying to locate a new bezel insert and new crystal. I thought I had located the bezel insert through Dagaz Watch Limited, but after conversing with Jake yesterday, the two that he has in the original style that came with my watch won't work (without serious modification) so I was wondering if anyone here had some insight on where I can find the insert. I don't believe the crystal is going to be a big issue.Would appreciate some feedback, thanks.PP1 002.jpgTop left pick is the one Jake offers that fits a 6306 model, but won't fit mine.

If you could find any three watches in an old drawer.
Imagine you¡¯re dreaming about searching in an old barn. You find a desk and open the drawers. In the back of the last one is a sealed metal box and inside 3 vintage watches. If you close your eyes, which watches do you see? I don¡¯t necessarily mean your grail watches because to me a grail watch has a degree of attainability attached tom it. The watches I see are ones that I have no realistic hope of getting in my lifetime but would love to have fall into my lap by shear good fortune. For example:A 14K solid gold, engraved Hamilton Oval. Perfect dial. No wear.A Benrus Sky Chief with a pristeen brown dial the flawless crystal and a Valjoux 72 inside the case.An 18K solid gold, black dial, trench watch. Preferably a 17j Elgin 0s with shrapnel grill. With a sticker on the back that says ¡°Enjoy your new purchase, Stan¡±.What¡¯s your dream trio?Joel

let's just say you have $1k cash money to spend on a watch right now. what would you add to your collection? something you've been eyeing for a while? a new 'daily driver'? a less commonly worn dress watch? and no, i do not currently have $1k cash money i'm about to drop on a new watch, so don't go looking for a post about a new watch anytime soon. i just thought this would be fun today.

Any 5550P owners on TRF?
Hi all, I am currently saving towards a 5970G (I prefer the dial over the 5970P's black. Though I would much rather have a platinum to match the 3970P in the box, I just can't do the dial.) And the 5970J and 5970R don't really peak my love for PP perpetual chronos in white metal. This being said I was curious if anyone out there had a 5550P because, though it would delay a 5970G, the size, shape and thickness (or lack there of) really appeal to me and I loved the 5140P when I spent time with it (but don't care for the blue dial..though I love me some white/silver dials with blue straps..)Anywho if there are any 5550P owners out there if you could share your experience, photos are a must, and even perhaps a little video (because there are none). How many more logos & crowns can or should Rolex place on their timepeices?
With certain models now maintaining several plus rolex crowns on the timepiece, including the etched words rolex in numerous locations, what do you think is too much? Are we getting to a tipping point where our beloved watches may boarder on overkill, or forbid tacky?We all know it’s a rolex right...the person sitting next to us can clearly see that too, but how much more branding does one really need or want? Too much of a good thing is not necessary always a net gain, but are we there yet? At what point is one more crown or rolex branding logo too much? Where do others see rolex’s branding strategy going long term? Are we going to eventually have 14+ crowns on timepieces a decade from now? Overall…I’m ok where it’s at, but tastefulness to tackiness is a fine line and when I look back over time there are typically fewer branding marks on previous generations fwiw. Interested to see what others think.Thanks.
