Chopard 161888-5002 wrist watches news:
Hi All,Been trolling here for the past few weeks, drooling over some magnificent timepieces. I'm in the market for a 212.30.41.20.01.002, or a 213.30.42.40.01.001 but I'm having a bear of a time deciding between the two. I like the non-chrono because it's minimal, "clean," and the sweeping seconds hand is, to me, the hallmark of a luxury watch (what does OP stand for? I see it associated with non-chrono quite often). But I also like the chorno because I like chronos, but no sweeping seconds hand, except in the smaller chorno. Also, would one of you be so kind and forward a list of ADs that have been trusted on this site? I would actually prefer to have the watch shipped to me (NY) from another state to avoid the sales taxes. What are fair prices for the above two watches? I've seen some tempting grey market watches on line (35% off), and would like the ADs to match or come close to that. is that unreasonable? Thanks, and I hope to join the Seamaster club soon.
Hi, I just bought my first Submariner from a certified Rolex dealer. I started reading blogs about fake Rolexes and of course now I am worried even though this was a major reputable dealer. A lot of the blogs mention a very small crown engraved on the crystal below the 6 o'clock marker. Mine does not have this. I even checked with a jewelers magnifying eye piece. Are the blog authors I'm reading confused or mis-informed? Is it only certain models that have this engraved crown? The only other thing that bothers me is that the crown on the screw down winder isn't orientated straight up and down when it is screwed in completely (the crown is tilted to the 11 o'clock position instead of pointing straight up to the twelve. Am I just being picky or should I be worried? Thanks, Scottie
Just sprung for a Orbita Monaco 3 from the "scratch and dent" collection. Probably the only way I could have experienced one of their great winders. I have a couple of Tech Swiss single winders now, which look ok, but probably not much long term usefulness. I am looking forward to seeing and the product and trying it out on my 3 babies. They will likely sleep so nice from now on.The information on this forum was very useful.
Anybody see this? Just announced, looks pretty good to me.
As you may know, I recently sent off my favourite speedmaster pro for a service, and I've been left with my seamaster as a daily wearer. It's the first time in a while I've just worn one watch. And I'm impressed I've worn it for just over a month, which included gym sessions, swimming, running, moving twice (business and home!) and pretty everything else I threw at it.... including a few collisions with doors And it still looks and feels great.I'm happy with the accuracy too, just over 30sec fast since I set it over a month ago. Now, I must admit.... I still prefer the looks of the speedy, and the fact that it wears a bit bigger is a big plus (no guesses what my next watch will be ) However, the bracelet on this one is solid as a rock. Apart from the clasp, which is somewhat of a scratch magnet, it wears great, is comfortable and never too heavy. So, overall, very happy! If anyone is considering one of these, go for it.
