- I just received this watch in the rosetone, and I really like it. Took the adjustable link out and it fits great. This watch looks much more expensive that it is. What a deal!!

Went to the usual auction house today and they had a little surprise waiting for me!There was a box with approximately 50 watches/PW's in it. Unsurprisingly, I got it, for 45$ I was a little worried when I first went through it, since a good 2/3's of the watches were junk quartz or to horribly broken. But I did find a few gems, including a vintage Seiko 21 jewel, A Waltham automatic wristwatch and a few others.Anyway, these two were stuffed in there and at first I didn't investigate too much. They looked like plane-Jane watches that I've seen before. But, I think I was wrong to think that.I first took the Elgin, unscrewed the back and...WOAH! Now THAT is beautiful! I didn't expect that at all! I thought it was going to be like my other nickleoid Elgin, a little engraving at most..I know it's an older 17 jewel movement, and it's in beautiful shape! I don't have a crown for it so I don't know if she's working. I hope she is though. The Waltham was more of the same! The Waltham also isn't wor
Been having a really hard time finding this exact model.. From my limited research I am under the assumption that the watch was made between 1939-1951.. The watch needs to be winded and seems to be in good condition.I haven't seen too many that have the 12-2-4-6-8-10-12 numeric setup.. I also don't think the post-1950 models had the numeric 6 blocked by the second mechanism.. Any ideas? Thank you in advance! 2012-01-30.jpgphoto.jpg
from europastar.com:Zenith capitalizes on its success May 13, 2008 By Keith W. Strandberg This year, Zenith is looking backwards and forwards, while also celebrating the brand's phenomenal success. According to worldwide President, Thierry Nataf, presiding over a worldwide pre-Basel event in Dubai, the re-vitalized brand has climbed to the world¡¯s fifth position from 188th in 2001. It's quite a turnaround, but Nataf is not done yet.Honouring the past Zenith continues to operate its business on the original manufacturing site in Le Locle, and it is here that the brand will be opening an exhibit about the history of Zenith and time, called ¡®Zenith Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow¡¯. The exhibit will be ready for VIPs, press and cel-ebrities this year and open to the public in 2009.In addition, Zenith plans to have its manufacturing space open for tours, as well.CHRONOMASTER OPEN GRANDE DATE and CHRONOMASTER MOONPHASE Celebrating the present Zenith is embracing its spirit of tradition and mod
Very speculative I know, but do you guys really think AP won't bring back the 15300 or a similar 39mm selfwinding? Here are the two reasons it's hard for me to believe:1) Many feel that 41mm is simply too big for their wrist (with lugs extending beyond the wrist).2) There are folks for whom it's very important that the watch be true to the original design.AP's strategy seems to be leaving these folks with the 15202 as a solution. But while I personally prefer the 15202 to 15300, it's not a totally practical watch for everyone, mainly because it doesn't have a seconds hand, no screw-down crown, extra slim makes it less sporty, etc. Seems to me that when the 15300 is gone AP will have left a void in their product line -- not in some peripheral, niche, or trendy segment, but right smack in the center. So again, do you really think AP won't bring back the 15300 or a similar 39mm selfwinding? Reminder of what's at stake here:
