Bulova came to Baselworld 2016 packing a couple of new, interesting quartz chronographs that left quite an impression. Bulova is very much trying to reinvent themselves these days, looking back at their history of innovation (think Accutron and the world’s first televised ad), adding a new and exciting spark to their design direction. Though they had a lot show at Basel this year, we have two offerings to look at today; one taking a step forward and one a step into the past.Bulova CURVThough they dabble with mechanicals, Bulova mainly produces quartz movement watches. I showed some self control today...
And it was difficult.I was out and about, stopped into a couple AD's, and tried on some really nice pieces. I somehow managed to get back home without buying anything. I tried on several Breitlings, and was really impressed with the weight of the watches. Definitely would like to add one (or more) to the collection eventually. I really liked the larger size of many of their offerings. The salesman even gave me a really nice Breitling catalog, which has got to be 100 pages or more.Also went to a Rolex AD, and tried on a few different models. This was the first time I've actually ever had authentic Rolexes on my wrist. I wasn't sure what to expect, and was hoping to be blown away. I can't necessarily say that was achieved, but I couldn't help but notice the watches oozed quality. Although they aren't really large in stature, in my opinion, they just felt solid and tight (for lack of better words). A Tourneau Store opens a couple miles fron my house tomorrow and they had all the windows dressed up today.I live in close proximity to a number of AD's but I have to say that Tourneau,being dedicated to timepieces only, has the best selection that I have ever seen in one place.Given what I have heard about their lack of discounting I ,very well ,may never buy there but I sure will look.They had a nice selection of U-Boat watches (which I have never seen in person)Those bad boys dwarf the Russian Diver!!!! Way too big for me.The Bell & Ross Instrument watches were nice,but again,way too big!They also had a nice showing of Omega,Oris,Longines,Baume et Mercier,Corum,R.Weil,Tag,Hamilton,Rado,Breitling,M ovado,Cartier and their own branded watches.The certified "pre-owned" window was mostly Rolex (Daytonas,DJ's,Subs,a Yachtmaster and a Cellini)Omegas were also well represented in the pre-owned inventory as was Patek.Looks like it'll be a great place to visit on a regular basis.

Advise needed.....
Can anyone advise me how to submit a request for an extract from Patek's archives? I filled out the request form on their site, and first attempted to email it to the address on the site, however it was returned twice as an unknown address. I then attempted to fax it, also to the number provided by Patek, only to receive a busy signal time and again. Is snail mail the only real option? Thanks.
