Chopard 43/6700-411 wrist watches news:
Hi I'm a newbie regarding watches, but I bought my first IWC today. 2311985.jpg2311987.jpgIs this watch original? I know that the wristband isn't and I think it's a 1950's model and in 18K?I paid around 900$, is that too much? I can still return it if it was a bad buy...I hope you can help a newbie
I was recently given my Great Grandfathers pocket watch, but it was not working at the time. I had it serviced and cleaned up and it runs like new now, almost looks like it too. :) I do not plan on selling the watch but it would be nice to get some info on it .. from what i came across from the serial # ( 40299 ) it appears to be from 1897-1898. would this be correct ?? i have no idea what model .. I really have no history on the watch other than it was my great Grandfather's, who I never met , he was born in 1894 so it might have even been his Father's wich would be very cool. I do know my Grandfather was the manager of a large logging camp in northern Oregon, and old steam trains would come and take away the logs. the only way to get out of the camp was by handcart.Anyways any info would be much appreciated .
I have a growing collection, and looking to meet others with the same obsession.
Hello everyone. My dad received a new Breitling chronometre super ocean last november for his retirement from his employer. The watch came with box only and has no owners manual or papers. The watch is brand new and has never been worn. I took it to a local jewelry mart and I wanted to see how much it was worth. They offered me $1600. She said that's the best she can do because of no papers. My question is this a fair offer? Should I keep the watch and try to get papers for it, (if possible)? Should I try a Breitling distributor? I'm in the Chicago area and this was the only person who seen the watch and quoted me a price. Any other good places I can take the watch to have appraised? Thank you for any help.
Hi Guys, I have been tossing around the idea of buying the Omega rubber strap for my Planet Ocean. I have a friend with the same watch and he bought a knock off rubber strap. It looks good but seems to collect dust like crazy. I was just wondering if it's because it's a cheap rubber or if the real rubber strap attracts dust too. I would hate to drop $500 on the strap and end up hating it because it always looks dirty. If anyone has one they are offering to sell, I may be interested. Let me know. Thanks guys!
