Citizen AW1018-55E wrist watches news:
...and this was decided after a few days of rotating timepieces. For some reason, the dial on the Aquanaut simply trumps all the other watches in my meagre collection. A quick glance in varying light conditions gives me a clear readout. Maybe it's the arabic, or the fat hands or even the shape of the dial, I don't know yet.The other watches in the rotation recently were:Rolex Submariner DateRolex Explorer II Blanc (not too bad this one)FP Journe Chronometre Souverain (good legibility on a classic dial)Patek 5296GMaybe I'll go make some side by side pics for comparison
Hello everyone,I know this is a long shot but does anyone own and are willing to sell their Seiko Spring Drive Moon Phase 2 SNR011 or Seiko Ananta Spring Drive SNR023? It's a magnificent timepiece that I've wanted for a long time. Thank you!Seiko SNR011.jpgSeiko SNR023.jpg
Hello peoples!Since my last post about my experiences with an old Ingraham dollar pocket watch, I have gotten some better tools, and a couple of old Ingersoll pocket watches for me to butcher; A Junior, a Reliance, and a Midget. I took all three apart and after a considerable time of studying every part, measuring pins, checking for out of round pin holes, missing teeth etc etc I have come to an educated guesses:Even though they are of the same concept in cheapness as the Ingraham, the Ingersoll dollar watches are designed to be minimally maintained. Both the Midget and the Junior are built with oil valleys around the pins, adjustable balance pre-load, which is removable along with the main spring and drum while the movement is still in its case. I even got all three to run for a bit after I cleaned em up and oiled around. But all three have the same problem:The hair spring does not seem to have enough "spring" to keep them going.. the pivots are ok. nothings bent, or out of true. I ca
So they get dirty as careful as I am with them and i just wondered how do you clean yours. I wouldn't want to use anything that could damage watertight seals or paint. Alot of things I found using google say to use mild dish soap but i herd from someone else not to do that so im stuck in the mud here can anyone help me.
I'm looking for a gift for my wife and know she's wanted a Rolex for some time. I've been out of the buying game for some time, so want to gauge what is a good price for what I'm looking for:SS OP 34 (114200)Silver dialFrom an authorized dealerMSRP is $5,050 and while I don't want to run afoul of any rules regarding discussions of specific dealers or prices paid, I'm trying to gauge what I should shoot for in negotiations. When she looked at this watch a few years ago, we were told 20% discount (but we ended up buying a house instead...) and I'm not sure whether that's still the going rate or not. Thanks.
