White gold, rose gold and platinum cases just 5.35mm thick enclose an ultra-thin Piaget caliber RL430 that is only 2.1mm thick. The thin, round case offers a polished case back that is ideal for personalized engraving. Two rows of diamonds around the bezel surround an elegant silvered opaline dial featuring a delicate barleycorn guilloch¨¦ pattern. The roman numerals sit atop a second guilloch¨¦ pattern, and these, along with the Breguet hands, give this Slim Classique a decidedly formal attitude. The bezel carries over the barleycorn guilloch¨¦ along with two rows of 96 round, brilliant-cut stones totaling about 1.11 carats. Each gem is grain set. The case measures 42mm in diameter and is water resistant to 30 meters. Like the Franck Muller Long Island (and watches from other brands before that), the Gevril Avenue of Americas watch collection has a very bold look that is a very appropriate look for the right sort of mature man. I was fortunate enough to be able to receive one of the last Boschett Cave Dweller original series I's available, new.It has been a great fun watch to wear, being both understated and bold at the same time classic clean lines meets chunky diver. Never any problems or issues the Miyota 8215 just keeps chugging along. so, when I heard in May of 2009 that Boschett was going to release the Cave Dweller II in November with some changes, I wondered if they would just be changes for the sake of change, or actual improvements.I thought it would be fun, now that it has been out for a while, to see the CD I and CD II side by side to compare features.For my comparo I chose the all SS black dial just to try and keep the playing field level and compare apples to apples. Looking for buying advice...long post
I'm about to close on my first AP and thankfully, it'll be my grail ROO (rb2ti). I know that everyone says buy the seller and not the watch. I did reach out to a few reputable sellers here and they did find me a few rb2s but there's one that I am going to go with as it's in better condition for marginally more. This watch is being sold by a private seller. First, the seller (original owner) has been very accommodating with pics of the watch, box, books, etc and whatever pics I requested. The watch appears to be complete. Second, I asked for a pic of the back and called AP clearwater to confirm the serial number and everything matches. Third, I reached out a friend of mine that lives in the seller's city and asked him if he knew anyone at the local AP dealer that could look over the watch for me. Need bracelet help!!! Questions; re: PCL vs BCL (I know... Not a new topic)
So I'll try to make this brief... My AD called me about a month ago and told me they had gotten a BLNR in and it was mine if I wanted it. I've wrestled with this watch before and never walked out of the store with one as I already have a 16710. However, this time I bit and picked it up the next day. I wore the BLNR for about 24 hours on a business trip to Chicago, but it just didn't feel right to me. I had a feeling this might happen, so I had left the stickers on, (which I never do). I got home and put it away for 3 weeks and then decided it just wasn't for me. Then 2 days ago, as a last ditch effort, I swapped out the bracelet on my LV and now I can't take it off.All of my sport watches have brushed bracelets, with the exception being a VC that has brushed links, with polished edges, but it's very subtle.
