went to pick up my new Sub-C but...
i tried it on, a true beauty, classic, timeless, the new case design is excellent, and i was just about to take my hard earned $7,200 to pay for it but...my wife was looking at other Rolex and she called me and ask me to try another watch on, and it was a Deepsea, right away i was blown away!compared both, tried both but the DS was just to nice and looked excellent on my wrist.i sold my Daytona cuz of the size, the new Sub looked nice but not as nice as the Deepsea.since it came out i desired it but reading reviews saying that it was pig-ugly, uncomfortable, too heavy, the ring inside the dial, too thick blah blah blah so i let it passbut let me tell you that this watch is a beauty, is very comfortable, its not that heavy [feels less heavy than my Aquaracer 500M] and yes is thick but thats nice, the ring in the dial is almost invisible, it doesn't pop at you, after all it feels and looks superbly on my wrist!if i could add something on this watch is a anti-reflective inner coating cuz

Warning: this is a rant.I know that Vintagehamiltons and Adam78 have also raised the problems with the "new and improved" WTF, but as of now I am to the point where I almost don't want to bother.Initially I thought it was my computer(s), but I read several other blogs/forums daily, and no other site does these things to me on such a regular basis. The number of database errors, timed outs, etc. that I'm getting make this site practically unbearable. I honestly don't see what the new site can offer me that the old one did not. I see a facebook link, but I don't use that site and don't intend to start. I see more advertising (at least when I am able to surf through the various pages ), and I guess that is fine since it probably helps to fund site operations. All I want to do is be able to chat about and look at old Hamilton watches. I for one would vote to dump the new site and put it back to the way it was. NEED HELP! Ideas for fathers 70th BIRTHDAY!
Hey everyone,I'm looking for some help here. My fathers 70th birthday is coming up and I'm looking for a good "big" present idea. I'd always kind of expected to get him an 18k watch since he always wears gold tones watches, but he's extremely happy with the Tissot gold PVD I bought him a few years ago, and if I really think about it he's not an "18k guy". If he knew how much an 18k was worth, even a modest one like a Longines, he wouldn't wear it. So I'm looking for some other ideas. He's pretty simple in taste. The Tissot is the only piece of jewelery he'll wear. Though he's been married for almost 50 years he doesn't even wear a wedding band. Bracelets, rings, chains - they're all out. It's a pain trying to get him just a regular Bday present since he doesn't 'need', or even want anything usually. I usually end up going the gift card route.
