I know we get TV in the UK a little behind the USA but on last night's episode of "Gossip Girl" - one of the characters bought her boyfriend a Patek Philippe Aquanaut as a Christmas Present (I'm guessing this was the Christmas episode that most likely aired around December 2007 in the USA). Don't be afraid of the 15450...
I get the sense that many chaps avoid the 15450 because 37mm seems too small...in fact, I myself struggled to pull the trigger for this very reason.I'm glad I finally got over this mental barrier and went for it, it's the perfect size for my wrists which are 6.5 ish.I have a Daytona which is a nice size also, and a Sea Dweller which works well for when I want a more casual look and when I don't think a bulkier watch looks out of place. But the AP is just perfect for me, so much so that my dealer is now on the lookout for a blue dial model (I was originally going to swap the dial, but the silver is so nice that I've decided to double up instead).A nice watch only looks nice if it's worn by the right person, and size of watch vs size of wrist is a critical factor. A less formal look for the Speedy
For a while now I've been looking for a nice alternative to the 7912 bracelet, for a less formal look, as well as greater security on the wrist.This led me down the road of Nato's, but while I did like it on a Timefactors (20mm) black nato, I felt it needed something just a little more 'natural'. So, down the leather nato road, but all the ones I inquired about were too thick, so the watch head stood a little too high for my liking.Enter Janko straps, beautifully made, thinner leather, and the option of a wonderful vintage / distressed look.
