Schools of Thought on Power Reserve
This may primarily apply to owners of the Speedy Pro but I wonder if it could be valid for self-winding watches as well.I had long held an opinion that by keeping the power reserve topped up, a watch would run more efficiently. However there is another as I discovered through GJ that letting your watch run down allows it to use its' entire range. I think I also read somewhere that once in a while, probably around a month it would be good to let the watch run down until it stopped.What have you heard pals and Gee Jaay, can you throw any more light on this please? GreetingsHere is a pocket watch I want to exhibit at your sight. My great grandmother gave it to my grandmother. From great grandmother's words, the watch belonged to her grandfather.From answers I have got, this pocket watch was supposedly made by Armond Schwob & Frere under Pateck brand name. The watch was a qualitative forgery of Patek Philippe brand, made with using 8 rubies and assembled into a solid gold case of 14 carats.Diameter of the case is about 3.4-3.5 cm, width - 8 mm. The watch is missing one of two hands, the stem and the bow. On the watch glass edges there are present chips. Presumably, the movement runs but nobody tried to run it.To let anyone interested know that such specimen existed, to submit the photos for history (until they are deleted from picture host site), here is what it looks like:I'm curios to hear any opinions on the watch on the whole and on its historical and material significance.Stas from Ukraine

Don't have an AP AD locally but was wondering if anyone had both watches or had pictures of them both side by side. Preferably would like to see a pic with them both on a wrist side by side. I really like both but also find the case a bit chunky on the GMT, however the GMT would probably be more reliable and easier to service but also more common and less interesting...
