Throwback To The Past: it is 1977, quartz watches are still less than 10 years old; it's the year Star Wars hit theaters for the first timeand you are actually looking at, not a piece of science fiction, but what is nothing less than the most technically advanced wristwatch ever produced. Whether you love or hate what electronics have meant in watchmaking, there's no doubt that the development of electrical and electronic timepieces, from very early electrical pendulum clocks of the early 19th century to the first quartz clocks of the 1920s, to experimental electromechanical watches in the 1950s and '60s, changed horology forever. Today the word "smart watch" is one we all know, but this was the very first of that breed, from nearly 40 years ago. The NYC Boutique today!
I stopped in the NYC boutique just before having to leave for the airport to come home. They have a number of the new ROOs on display. They also have some of the new ROs in the back. I asked to see the new Gray/blue titanium platinum. I admit it is beautiful. They told me it was 42,600 or 42,900 ( I cannot remember) so a little less than the 44K but still quite a premium. IT was heavier than I expected. I started looking at the date window that as mentioned in the past threads was a little off center. Did not bother me too much but I can really see how it might affect some. Well the point is they have a number of the new releases in as floor models and if you are interested-- just ask if not on the floor. I wish i would have had more time but was a tight schedule.PS I meant to mention--- the larger chrono subdials are noticeable and I like that. I do not mind the smaller seconds hand sub dial but I generally preferred having the numbers present. Cannot have everything

Sub Timekeeping Accuracy
In November my wife bought me a 116618LB (YG w/ Blue dial).For the last 4-5 weeks I have not removed my Sub. I sleep, shower, everything wearing the watch.I checked the time today. Over that 4-5 week period the watch has picked up 5 seconds.I am super impressed.

So, after a year of frequenting this forum and reading, learning on our beloved mutual passion I couldn't help myself and I've cracked for the second time. I'm in it for the long run now. Damn all of you :)Since a couple of months I've been craving a second Rolex to add to my starting watch collection. I'm a sucker for blue and was looking into getting an iconic classic in the professionel line: the Sub or a GMT to add next to my more 'quircky' less conventional Milgauss. TT or precious metals are not for me now, I'm in my late 20's so sticking with SS. The Sub I find a great watch and a timeless classic icon but a litte too common for my taste. And like my Milgauss I like a bit of coulour especially blue and a special feature. So look no further! The GMT BLNR caught my eye with the partly blue ceramic bezel.
