Corum FAMily 2 wrist watches news:
Thanks to Mr. Seo for sharing this tasteful image of the first aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer watch Winder by Wolf Designs which he picked up. Each is personally engraved for the buyer. Nice home for his Panerai as well.Still available limited edition aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer watch winders are available for purchase via Wolf Designs here. (UPDATE: NO LONGER AVAILABLE).
Hey guys, It's obvious now that I am a Vintage enthousiast, but how about you?I really love the simple, no-nonsence, bomb proof movements and fantastic designs from past deccades.Plus the fact that these Vintage watches have a story to tell, they lived a life already and are more then ready for yet another life..Great quality timepieces..
Saw this article on the Sinn Flieger 356 Pilot, it talks about the style of a pilot's watch. Is 'pilot's watch' generally more of a style term nowadays?
Omega?Let me explain...this coincides with numerous posts about the thickness and comfort of the PO.I have a 42mm PO 8500 and have very strong feelings about it.First....it is way too thick. It does not have any satisfactory adjustment for the band and angers me almost every day.It is stunning to look at and the movement is awesome. But I cannot make it fit properly and comfortably.Taking it on and off constantly and/or not wearing it because of this is maddening. In fact I have barely worn it over the year I've owned it because of this.So what do I do? The Rolex Sub C or Datejust ii fit beautifully. However, the PO has essentially become a joke in terms of resale. It appears the only realistic option without opening the wallet and take a huge loss is to buy a 20 year old Explorer II. Omega is so close to catching Rolex in terms of movements and design....but without comfor what do you have?Just my 2 cents.
I know this has been a recurrent subject here, but I wanted to know what do you think of these 2 pieces, knowing that they are the 2 Genta Icons, of course the RO is much closer to the original, as far as I know the new model is practically the same as the original but with a see through case back, whereas the Nautilus is quite different, the original didn't have a seconds hand, and the case back was also non transparent. I remember when I started to look into AP and PP, around 1,5 years ago, the 2 were priced very differently, the 5711 much more expensive, but now when I look on Chrono 24 it still is but the difference is much less than before.Strangely enough when I see both on pics but separately I tend to find the RO more beautiful, but when I see both next to each other on the same pic, maybe Ken could post one or two as I know he has some, I find the Nautilus more beautiful.Of course the RO is more industrial and more sporty looking, when the 5711 is IMHO pure class and elegance.
