When you are a survivalist nomad in a post Department of Water & Power world, you'll need a reliable timepiece to help keep you alive. This article is also a bit of an update to a piece we did over five years ago on a similar thread. I was looking through one of my favorite online watch store (not sponsored, so i won't mention the website) and noticed the suggested retail prices of the Planet Oceans have all gone up. I've been eyeing the Planet Ocean for several months and the 45mm model was always around $3600 MSRP, but now it's $3880 MSRP.Has there been a recent price increase???
I started seriously looking at watches again around the same time nola did and now I feel like im ready to move up a bit in prices. I want to see what people think would be a good watch in the neighborhood of $400-600. It has to be something versatile that looks good with jeans and a t-shirt or a suit, currently own:2 seiko 51 alpha1 vostok1 orient1 hamilton(vintage)2 cheap chinese knock offs

Just found out that my 5726a came with papers for a 5296g. I bought it brand new from an AD, that is no longer an AD for Patek, a year ago. Annoying thing to find out right as I'm in the middle of a trade Anyone else have an experience similar to this? And does anyone know if Patek offers to send replacement papers for situations like this?
