MKII is a bit of an anomaly in the watch world. Their watches are immediate cult favorites, they base their designs largely if not entirely on classic designs from military and tool watches from the 50's, 60's and 70's and they are basically a company of one. MKII is the project of Bill Yao, a perfectionist with an eye for the details and obsessive dedication to quality and execution. In hand, a MKII has the feel of a watch worth much more. A pictoral overview of the Titanium SeaWolf
This watch amazes me more than any other in my collection. It is at the same time perfectly designed for functionality, legibility, strength and that incredible 3000m/10000ft water resistance and yet looks stunning. It cannot ever be considered a dress watch. There is nothing superfluous to this design and the components that make up the wonderful whole.With it's grey Titanium case and monochromatic dial/hands it is subtle, but with its 44mm and 20mm thick dimensions it is noticable. All too often oversized divers/sports watches can be a little overbearing and fatiguing on the wrist. Especially diminutive wrists such as mine. However, the use of Titanium for the case and the rubber strap means that this incredibly strong watch is actually comfortable to wear.As mentioned before this Titanium SeaWolf was meant to be a stop gap until I could afford the current Stainless Steel version. If you had the possibility, financial and relation wise, as Patek does it but in very rare occasions, and only for serious PP collectors who have invested quite a lot on the brand already, to have a unique Patek made out for you, either changes in an existing model or something totally new, what would you ask for?For me very simple, a 5712P obviously, and with the kind of blue dial as in the 5711P, that would be a stunning watch...
