Elgin ww find - advice/thoughts?
Hello - My first post herehope I do things right. Just the other day found a 1929 Elgin from a local shop here in Poland for almost nothing. Looking pretty good, I think (pictures from the seller on a local Polish site, so should be ok to use?)3021814531_3.jpg3021814531_5.jpgJust wondering a few things - The dial looks awfully good, I think, for it's age. Do you think it's original as is? And would it be a crime to refinish (probably...). Don't see any hint of brassing anywhere - should the engraving be enameled? Not quite sure what I've got here - is it one of the American Efficiency line?How does the movement (15j 428) look? I'm almost certain it's got a broken staff (the wheel wobbles slightly, it won't wind, but sets) - no problem to find a replacement there, but does it look a bit nasty/rusty? I think I got myself quite a little find here. The person I bought it from (who sells mostly Poliot etc.) seemed to feel there was little hope for it, as finding parts might be toughI hope i

Hi guys,My SS Diver is now 18months old. I successfully sent away for the 3rd year sticker for my warranty book. I'm guessing now is the time for me to send it in to AP?Questions are,1 is there a cost for this service, 2 do I send direct to AP (how/where?) or via an AD, 3 do I include the warranty booklet, 4 will they service the watch/ polish the case or is that a cost option5 and how long will the process take Thanks so much

Having read with interest, the enthusiasm members have for their Speedy Pros with official and after-market display case-backs, particularly the 3572.50s I would be most grateful for answers to a couple of questions.Does wearing a watch with a crystal caseback feel different to a SS caseback?
