Cartier W51002Q3 wrist watches news:
While we're die-hard vintage Breitling fans, we can recognize good development when we see it. A couple of months ago we reported on the Breitling Transocean Chronograph. That model hankered for its roots and introduced a vintage theme and a simpler two-register layout. The new Transocean Chronograph?1915 takes that development?a step further by introducing a new dial design, new case and, most importantly, a new manufacture caliber.?The Transocean 1915 starts with a 43 mm by?14.6 mm case in polished stainless steel. Instead of applied indexes like its predecessor, the Transocean 1915 has printed Arabic numerals. Two registers, arabic numerals and a push piece at 2 o'clock ¨C?many?HODINKEE readers should be thinking "montbrillant" (hence 1915, before Breitling introduced the second pusher in the '30s). 2 OF 3 Naturally, we could do without the date, but the narrow window doesn't seem to distract from the dial as much as date windows can. I have the green Chronoris in my grail list, hope to get it someday...What about you guys?
Last year I was searching for a nice 5402 1st series RO. I found a few, but they were over-polished and generally not in great shape. So, I stumbled across a Ref. 14802, which was a 1992 limited edition Jumbo RO (1,000 steel, not sure how many platinum) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the RO.It was an almost new condition and the dial is slightly different than the 15202. Also, the engraving on the rotor memorializes the Jubilee anniversary of the RO.All in all, it's a lovely watch, sets itself apart from the 15202, and assuming you can find one, is more affordable than a 5402 in comparable condition.I will let the photos do the talking:
What would make this ref 114300 a better watch ? For me a 41mm case and the removal of the colour dots . I realy would like a straight forward watch without any trimmings and this is so close .
Love all of the DD2 platinum glacier blue models with the blue romans (and concentric circles) but does anyone have the model with glacier blue dial and silver romans?Thks
