Hello,I am new to all of this and a have a watch that my grandfather owned. I was wondering if you all can help me with a value on this watch. It is a 1956 (I believe) 14k Hamilton Automatic K-202 with a serial number of L779428 and another number on the cover is 661. The stem is recessed and both the Hamilton and Automatic printing on the face curve with the dial. I hope this is enough information to get started. Thanks,Dave
Not from me, written by a good friend. Too good not to repost. Enjoy.Manufacture Literature I - a little peek"Appreciation for fine timepieces ripens with the knowledge of the history of the great manufacturers, of which Audemars Piguet, A Lange & S?hne, Breguet, Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin rank at the top. The collection of books in this article contains some of the most famous names in horology and some of the most beautiful timepieces ever created. Hey guys. I bought a pre-owned alinghi carbon a couple of weeks ago and a couple of things are wandering inside my mind. Here's the first one: even though the watch is in perfect condition and is working fine I'm wondering if I should send it for maintenance to clearwater?. Here's the second: I have a chance to either trade it for a brand new grand prix carbon or should I just use trade money to get me a deepsea. So here you have it. Any advise?? Tx.
I¡¯ve found myself in the position of deciding between a sub and a sub date like so many others have discussed in previous posts. I¡¯m curious about getting a more nuanced perspective on the decision compared to what I¡¯ve seen before though. Anyone regret making the decision to go with the sub or sub date after some time? What were your thoughts as you decided that the other option may have been better? I know that after the thrill of a new watch settles in and you get used to it you start noticing characteristics that weren¡¯t readily apparent. For me I was always set on the sub without a date, until I tried on a sub date. That then had me thinking that the sub looked a bit plain and incomplete. I wear my pieces for myself, but a guilty part of me also wanted my watch to be more recognizable, and the cyclops certain helps with that. On the other hand the sub without the cyclops is super clean, symmetrical, and I wonder how much of a pain it will be to have to deal with part of the dial b
