Ebel 1215720 wrist watches news:
I can honestly say this is the watch everyone – though maybe no one more than me – has been waiting for since the 2013 50th anniversary of the Cosmograph Daytona. We now have a steel Daytona with black ceramic bezel! This watch closes the loop on the entire Daytona family, bringing back back the familiar look that we first saw in 1965 with the reference 6240 and ultimately the 6263. Let's get into it. 1 OF 3 The 2016 Cosmograph Daytona is very much the same watch as the 2015 Daytona – this is Rolex, after all – though in addition to the black Cerachrom bezel, the white-dial version now features black rings instead of silver above the sub registers. The watch remains 40 mm and still we have the absolutely superb caliber 4130.Did I mention it comes in black? 2 OF 3 Yes, the new Daytona comes with a black dial, too. ADVERTISEMENT Yeah, it does! So what is the benefit to the Cerachrom bezel? Well, it&
I buy my watches as if every purchase is going to be a heirloom, so I prefer mechanicals. I expect all my watches to be handed down to my kids and last for a lifetime. From what I have read and heard about Quartz movements they need to be replaced from between 10 to 20 years depending on the quality, some may even last longer, I most likely would not replace a quartz movement unless it was in a watch like a Breitling or a Rolex Oyster quartz. Now as far as cost, quartz would be more practical, because mechanicals from time to time will require maintenance, and depending on the watch it can be quite expensive, but some malfunction in my head steers me towards a mechinical movement that can last a lifetime even though I can probably be better off buying a new quartz watch at the same price as I would pay for a service.
So this question goes out to anyone who owns a Rolex they consider to be a tool watch. If you have a SubC, Explorer, ExplorerII, DSSD etc. is there a situation when you would not be happy wearing your watch ?Would you wear it to go climbing up a rock ? Snowboarding down the side of a big mountain ? White water Rafting ? Basically I'm asking even if you own a watch that is considered extremely rugged, when do you draw the line and say nope, not risking my Rolex on that.
This is just amazing. Can't believe she can get her hands on thisimage.jpg
