Ebel 9954Q31/153450 wrist watches news:
Omega Cronostop.JPGOmega Chronostop driver.jpgOmega Chronostop after service.jpgomega chrono driver.jpgDear Members,I would like your views on this Omega Chronostop Driver which has being serviced / overhauled by Omegathis watch dates from around 1970 and as you will see it was designed to be worn on the inside of the wrist hence the name Driver. The thinking being that you did not have to take your hand off the steering wheel to see the time !!As ever kind regardsWalter
Got this one in a trade.
Consensus seems to be there has been no need to for its market demographic and its accuracy is known to be fine unadjusted. My reference has an 864 mvnt. of 1992 250 qty. in gold case and band was one Speedy pro certified. Do not think Omega ever did the early 321 Speedy pro, but it was proven by its designer Lemania to meet the tougher Swiss rating standards of 1942+. Here is example to confirm. 7 positions adjusted. 2 were with both chronograph and watch mechanism running. I wonder if any Omega was ever adjusted for 7? Are marks on case edge on right side for adjustment totalling indicators? Is the stiff short wire over top of balance to limit its displacement during shocks?
Have a Happy New Years and wishing all the best for you in 2012.Bringing it in at home wearing my Seiko 6309-7049. Stay safe everyone & watch out if your celebrating out there...Designated drivers are the order of the evening & Cabs are waiting and ready. Cheers, Jim
Hello,I'm a new member who's been lurking here for a while. My modest collection consists of a recently purchased Super Ocean, black with stainless Professional and Diver Pro bands, an Omega De Ville quartz which was a gift in 1984, an Omega Seamaster Pro quartz purchased in 95 and a Tag Formula 1 Chronotimer which is my running and kicking around watch. With the SO being my first automatic my question is how to manually wind it and how important is manual winding after prolonged inactivity? I apologize in advance if this is too much of a newbie question. Thanks
