Ebel 9157F11 wrist watches news:
At Baselworld this year, Movado showed its all-new collection of men’s automatic watches. The 1881 Automatic Collection combines familiar Movado design characteristics with elements of the brand’s revamped look ¨C all with a reliable Swiss movement inside. The 1881 Automatic is a three-hand watch with a date display at 6 o’clock. It has the spare, stark appeal that has characterized Movado ever since the “Museum” watch became the centerpiece of the brand in the 1980s. That watch, and those that followed it, were defined by the prominent concave dot at 12 o’clock. In recent years, Movado has moved beyond this completely minimalist design to incorporate some other elements on the dial. The 1881 Automatic is a good example of this: it has a subdued minutes track, which has been stamped on the dial, and applied hour indexes. The dial is divided into an inner section and an outer ring. The interior has a sunray finish; outside of this is a “reflector r
For those of us without deep pockets, Orient watches present an incredible value. With their solid built quality, reliable workhorse movements (in-house, I might add), and often pleasing designs, they are hard to argue against, and they're often on the short list when people ask us to point them in the direction of affordable and well-built mechanical watches. One thing that Orient does exceptionally well is dress pieces. The ever-popular Bambino series is a great case in point, as are numerous watches across their Star and Classic collections. Today, we're going hands-on with a new member to the latter¡ªthe Monarch.Introduced in early Fall 2015, the Monarch is a unique vintage-inspired addition to the Orient family. I say unique because it is one of the few manual winders in the brand's catalogue. Beyond that, it also features a domed sapphire crystal, a power-reserve indicator, and an exhibition case back¡ªelements not often seen on a watch priced at a MSRP of $335, but even less so in
And we're back. This episode of Talking Watches brings us full circle from episode one, where we sat down with musician John Mayer, because the subject of this episode is again a guitarist, and again a truly passionate lover of all things horological. Fabrizio Sotti is one of those guys that only should only exist in the movies. He's a world-class jazz guitarist who played for years with the Gipsy Kings, and he's produced for everyone from Jennifer Lopez and Whitney Houston to Q-Tip, Wu-Tang Clan, and Tupac. 1 OF 43 Sotti sold his own record label to Universal some years ago, but continues to produce and record in his studio in downtown New York City, where we met him to see some of his collection. Sotti is a true watch lover, but he's also an avid car collector and even recorded a track to be used by a little motorcar company called Ferrari, which he also collects. Sotti's collection is deep, and wide. He is a true lover of all things horological &nda

Background: I'm 36, male, bald (shaved head), close-cropped perma-beard, athletically built (6'2, 215lbs, broad shoulders). I mention this to offer some context for the question I'm wrestling with about my next purchase.Current Collection: Submariner 114060 (2016) that is my daily/travel/go-everywhere watch. I have a Deep Blue dive watch from my significant other that I wear casually on a NATO and an Orient Polaris GMT (from my deceased mom) on a blue gator strap. The Orient and Deep Blue are obviously sentimental so I'm not looking to duplicate either of those.Personal Style: I work either from home or at a client site in software, so dressing for work is very casual. I haven't worn a suit in a few years but wear sportcoats with slacks regularly for more dressy occasions. I also live in Southern California, so between my line of work and location it's really casual. I tend to wear what I'd call refined-casual; have been taking style inspiration recently from easy Italian looks-- lots
