Esrange offered up a Benrus automatic in a thread a month ago. I have had Benrus 3 star models on my list for a while but couldn't find a good match on Ebay, so I jumped. A little polish and a crown later:A few case issues aside, the dial is spectacular, the crystal polished up better than average and after prying apart the rusted two-piece stem, it has responded well to a little TLC.Its hard to get a good shot of the movement with that big rotor always in the way.Special thanks to Esrange, Joel

Running Fast
My newly acquired Hamilton Khaki Auto is running fast. It's only a week old and I have been wearing it around 10 hrs a day since last Sunday.It's been anywhere from 10-15 seconds fast since then. I remember my last one being fast as well, but can't remember if it was like this one. Will it settle in after a month or so, or is this normal for this movement? Are there any tricks to get it to speed up or slow down? I know if I put the crown up, my Submariner will speed up and crown down will slow it down. I tried this with my Khaki last night and I didn't notice any difference. If this is a characteristic of the watch, then no problem. I can just hack it every time I wear it and re-set it against my Casio that's linked to the atomic clock.Thanks everyone.

5712 as a daily/only watch?
Hi all,I've have been considering consolidating my small collection into one Patek Phillipe watch and wearing it daily. I am looking at a steel version of the 5712 and was wondering if any current/previous owners could shed some light on the watch.As I have never owned a Patek piece before, I was wondering whether the 5712 could be worn as a daily watch and whether it could withstand daily wear and tear.Is the 5712 as scratch prone as the AP Royal Oak models? Also, I am concerned that the movement may be a bit too fragile for me to wear it on a daily basis.Thanks in advance for any help.
