I am looking at this watch on E Bay. I am new to the watch collecting world. I presently have a Rolex Submariner and a Panerai Regatta. Just don't know if this one is authentic. It seems most Omegas state the model on the face (Seamaster, etc)??

that President Johnson had a lot to do with Hamilton's demise? In the 60's he took the tariffs off of watch imports.It wasn't so much the Swiss they were worried about....it was Timex. They had their watches built in several places around the world and they were running high on the "takes a licking and keeps on ticking". Now they were able to import them at a cheaper cost. They also were the first watch company to sell watches outside of a jewelry store. You could pick up a Timex at the drug store which was totally unheard of at that time. They offered a 30% margin to those other retailers and a 50% margin to the Jewelers.
