I got this from my Dad at Xmas 2006. He bought it in New Orleans in 1973. I remember as a kid, him wearing it. My Dad wore this for about 4 years, then fell victim to the cheap quartz revolution and never went back. Anyhow, I was home for Xmas and was digging (looting) through his desk when I found it. I instantly remembered it but had no idea of the brand. Upon closer look wait it can't be. A freakin vintage Heuer. And a big gnarly one at that. I showed it to my Dad as if to say, "why aren't you wearing this?" He just looks at it and said casually, "You like that big ugly thing?" "You can have it." No way He shoots, he scores!!!! Anyhow, I fired it up and it ran fine. Several months later I sent it off for a major overhaul, new crystal and pushers, and I've been wearing it regularly since. It keeps time to about + or - 2 seconds a week depending on how anal I get with overnight positioning. Anyhow, for your viewing pleasure 1973 Heuer Calculator Chrono. The Queen of m
Hey all, new to the forum but have been lurking for a while. Anyways I am planning to add a diver to my collection and have been weighing a couple of options: the Blancpain Bathyscaphe Chronograph in ceramic, the Hulk Submariner, and the AP Diver in SS. After trying all of them on, I prefer the AP, but have heard bad things about wear and tear on the bezel/scratches on the case. I'd like to see any pics AP diver owners may have showing wear on the steel if possible just to see what everyone is talking about. Also, how does the AP diver compare as a daily wear to a Sub-C?Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone. I have been a rolex guy for the past five years or so but have been thinking about making a move to ap and pp. I'm thinking ap first then make my way to a pp complication. I have done a lot of reading on the ro 15300 and I have read mostly nothing but good things. What I would like from all of you is to hear the negatives of ap and specifically the 15300. I know some have visited the service center sooner than owners would like, anything else? I just want to be aware of everything before I make the plunge! Thanks to all
Any of you see both in person? Thoughts?
