Glashutte XL 95-01-31-24-05 wrist watches news:
Gentlemen I am looking to buy a decent diver or chrono watch for beach/everyday use.I want at least 200m WR and don't want to spend more than ?150 (unless it's something really special)I've looked at Seiko, Citizen etc and am undecided.I don't mind a rubber strap.Regarding Seiko? What are the latest views on "Kinetic" ? Are they reliable and now free of their previous capacitor problems etc?Are low budget automatics any good? Are they accurate?Am I better off with a basic quartz?Any suggestions or advice?
[sarcasm] How did I miss this incredible bargain? [/sarcasm]cgi.ebay/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ht_4535wt_1167Yes, Longines prices are starting to creep up a bit when you combine the price of gold's rise with a small resurgence in the brand's popularity. But that is a ridiculously INSANE price for that watch!!! The saddest part is I think maybe it's a caliber 50x - not a true in-house Longines movement but a refinished Record caliber 1955 or 1958 depending on exactly which 50x it is. Longines had acquired Record in 1961 so technically it could be called one of their movements but it's not nearly as refined as the 34x or 35x series. Even if that watch DID have one of the higher end movements that's STILL a crazy asking price! Know what the best part is? "WE BELIEVE THIS WATCH MAY BE NEW-OLD-STOCK BUT NOT 100% SURE." Oh yeah, it's "MINTY" alright! Hey, at least the listing doesn't say "Just serviced!".
After looking for several months & checking with BUSA, I'd had no luck finding a new Pro I bracelet (they were discontinued a bit over a year ago), so I'd almost given up hope. Then, when all looked lost, one of the AD's actually had one in stock, still wrapped up & brand spanking new!!! So without even a second glance, I snatched it up! It's now on my SuperOcean!!!!! So here it is. I like the lines of the new Pro II bracelet, but just like the Pro I a bit more. I like the center links being brushed. Gives it a bit of distinction instead of the all polished look of the Pro II (not to mention it'll show scratches less....So - what do ya think????
Happy 4th of July, America!
I love looking at my black dial wg Daytona. But when I wear it I just cant read it. I am thinking of selling it and buying an AP Panda with the red stitch black hornback strap. My only problem is I feel I'm giving up a wg watch for a ss one. Even though I will net some cash, I have never traded down before. Of course I will buy what sings to me but has anyone ever given this consideration when trading?
