Mido Multifort
I haven't posted a non-American acquisition in a long time. This one is perfect advice from Adam. ALL information in this thread has been modified from his original writeup to me personal. I present to you the worlds FIRST Waterproof/Anti-Shock/Automatic/Anti-Magnetic watch!Rolex had one that was close but was not Anti-Magnetic!Although this model is from the 1940's it is the same model from 1935 that was the first ever in its class.Mido used a natural cork seal by the crown to keep water out. I asked Jesse how it worked and he said when natural cork swells when wet, and this watch has never had a reported failure. This watch is such a COOL piece, it is a bumper movement and a smooth sweep. It is gorgeous!The Mido917 beats at 18,000 bph through a Nivarox hairspring.According to Adam's research, the Mido Multifort cost 20% more than a Bubbleback from Rolex! I want to change the bezel on my Super Ocean Heritage from black to green, does anyone know of a source for this part only without sending to Breitling for a complete service as the watch is only 18 months old.ThanksWayne

Omega service repair experience
Just wanted to share some of my experience.My wife has a fairly new Aqua Terra with the new 8520 movement. Its very rarely worn. The winding mechanism seemed to fail whereby manual winding would catch on the rotor making it difficult to wind. I guess it shouldn't.Anyway, we gave it to the Omega boutique here in Hong Kong. It went through a local check with the watch master in Hong Kong, and then later it went to headquarters for a full repair. The whole time we did not receive a telephone call to update us of the status until it was ready for pickup. It took a full two months.When we picked up the watch, the sales gave very little input as to what was wrong or what was done to the watch. There was a little report, which I asked to keep but was not allowed to. It showed that the gasket was replaced, but surprisingly much of the comments were written in Chinese - so I wonder if this was the master report from Switzerland. Being COSC certified, it kind of irks me a little knowing
