Hublot 301.SX.1170.SX.1104 wrist watches news:
Like in 2007, the 2008 edition is just donesee it hereforum.hardware.fr/hfr/Discuss....htm#t13698526The principle is : each year some forum members post wristshot watch photo the best photos are selected and then the result.Of course the comment is in french and with many joke and humors inside, it's very hard to translatebut a tryThe Title: Obsession 2008 ( watches obsession of course)Loving the watches is January: Continuing (to prolong ?) our dreamsfebruary: No move back in suffering nevrotic (watches obsession), something like thatmarch:knowing to take altitude (the moon watch evocation)april: playing with colors (my orient watch !)may: playing bad boys (black leather...)june: literrally : asking the moon, a joke in french this means asking for the impossible. so the watch is a moon watch.july: dazzling the beautiful but radioctives young girls; so the watch is Russian/USSR :-)August: The chock of cultural civilizations (Tee shirt=France, Jeans=US, watch=Russia/USSR)September:
After a few years I have come to grips with the fact that I love watches and the only way to show it is to wear them.It is inevitable that, through normal daily wear that they will not look new forever, unless extraordinary measures are taken. There are times when I prefer "defensive" measures depending on the situation at hand such as I don't wear my Planet Ocean while gardening or I don't wear my T-Touch in the water-obvious stuff like hat.Any one take any really extraordinary measures to preserve the pristine look of their watches??IMHO a watch should look like someone owns it-not like a display piece.
A Tourneau Store opens a couple miles fron my house tomorrow and they had all the windows dressed up today.I live in close proximity to a number of AD's but I have to say that Tourneau, being dedicated to timepieces only, has the best selection that I have ever seen in one place.Given what I have heard about their lack of discounting I ,very well ,may never buy there but I sure will look. They had a nice selection of U-Boat watches (which I have never seen in person)Those bad boys dwarf the Russian Diver!!!! Way too big for me.The Bell & Ross Instrument watches were nice, but again, way too big! They also had a nice showing of Omega,Oris,Longines,Baume et Mercier,Corum,R.Weil,Tag,Hamilton,Rado,Breitling,M ovado,Cartier and their own branded watches. The certified "pre-owned" window was mostly Rolex (Daytonas,DJ's,Subs,a Yachtmaster and a Cellini)Omegas were also well represented in the pre-owned inventory as was Patek.Looks like it'll be a great place to visit on a regular basis.
Decided on an AP 15400 and can't decide between the black or silver dial. Have seen the silver and like it. Haven't seen the black. I know it's personal preference but what do you guys think? I like the reflective properties of the silver. Does the black also reflect the light well, is it a dull black or more of a gloss black. Thanks, Sam
So.....I'm dipping my toes into Panerai. I've solidly put my choice at 47mm. So, that left me basically looking at the 372, and 422. At first I wasn't a fan of the second hand, but I can understand it's usefulness (is this watch working?). AND THEN I saw the 663, but this has the tobacco/brown dial. Apparently it is a limited run, but it doesn't have the sandwich dial (which I like better), but I think I could overlook that. I'm just not so sure of the brown dial on the rustic brown leather strap. I like the black dial look, just not sure on the brown. So...I'm stuck: 372 (hard to find), 422 (can be found), or the 663 which is more expensive and limited, but not a sandwich dial...and I'm not sure how it'll wear. So...yeah... What say ye?
