- Have used older flat watch for over 10 years as alarm clock. Liked the rooster crowing. Do not like this version at all - tried to return but over 30 day return limit. Would buy older version if I could find it - ANYWHERE!!

Hublot 511.CM.1771.RX wrist watches news:
First, let me say that no sane person invests in watches as they rarely gain in value, and if they do, it's not enough to out-perform more traditional methods. Okay, now that we got that out of the way let's have some fun! What watches do you think have the best chance of gaining value over the years? It can be new or vintage. I'll stick with vintage for a couple reasons. One: you can get them for a fraction of what a new watch from the same company costs; two: the depreciation has already been suffered by the original purchaser. My first brand to watch is Jaeger LeCoultre. I can't believe they haven't already jumped in value! These are well respected by collectors and watchmakers alike, and have made movements for the Big 3 (AP, VC, PP). Their standards for testing are tougher than COSC is, and the manual wind dress watches with 88X series movements are elegant.Second on the list is Longines. My watchmaker calls them "sleepers" since he expects them to escalate and they are such
I know this subject has come up before and it did not carry the day. I know some of you also know I was involved in one of these with another forum. Which despite the nay sayers that said it could not be done. It indeed was done. Now many of you will recall the very nice Edouard Lauzieres Eldiamante that was a part of a very popular watch photo contest recently here. Because of this contest a few of our fellow members and of course John Holbrook got to see the watch first hand. So how many of you would be interested in a special Edouard Lauzieres wtf forum watch? Now I have not discussed this with anyone else here or even with EL for that matter. It's an idea that just popped into my head and I was curious to know if this would be a popular idea here. The price would of course depend on the type of watch that was selected. You can bet it would cost quite a bit less than the standard prices. So who thinks this might be an interesting idea? Best Regards,Thomas Carey
Just an excuse to post a pic with the latest nato! Have a great weekend!
It's the RG version. My heart almost jumped out when I saw the ADs phone number on the call display. While the 5712R is really nice, still prefer the SS!Still nice of this AD to have offered it to me, even though I have never visited them in person and only called them in November to get on the list.
Not my watches sadly. Just sharing yesterday¡¯s arrivals with my TRF family.
