Need feedback on some winders
Hi guys! I'm very new to this subject and would need some guidance based on your expertise here.Thinking about getting a winder and read through the forum then gathered that Orbita; Wolf; and Eilux are good winders. However they are all rather expansive and beyond my budget.What would you guys think of The DESIGNHUETTE winder, a german made? Is this a good buy? Or what about the American made Hugh McCaulletts Winders?Both of these have programmable TPDs and are bi-directional. Any comments are most appreciated. Thanks alot!!

Hey Guys,Nothing monumental here, but I just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying this new sub-forum. Jeez, I had no idea how many American watch makers there were - and - the beautiful watches they made. Most folks have heard of Hamilton, Gruen and Waltham but that's about it.I have 3 American watches: a gold Waltham pocket watch as well as an American Watch Co. "silverine" pocket watch (neither of which run and are family pieces that I don't really know which relative owned them) and a 1942 Hamilton Yorktown which I know belonged to my grandfather.I remember seeing the Hamilton at my grandmother's house since I was a kid. My grandfather died when I was 4 years old, so I never really knew him. Anyway, she had this until she died a few years ago and while cleaning out her place I asked my Dad if I could have it.I kept it in a similar dresser drawer until one day I decided to send it to a friend who is changing careers and plans to be a watchmaker. I just picked up some NOS Hamilton straps in 14mmperfect for models like this Sutton so it's getting some wrist time today.

My first time posting one of these, so tell me if I do anything wrong First up is a Bulova Marine Star that I got today.. (Don't know too much about it)Next is a Benrus Day/Date, Gold Filled, automatic.I didn't take very good pictures on this one, but it's really gorgeous.And last, is an Elgin Sportsman.This thing is flawless, except for a minor scratch at 12'o clock.It runs like a champ, with a beautiful crown.

New AD - Central NJ
For the TRFers in central NJ, a new Omega AD opened in Menlo Park Mall - Safa Jewelers. The guys there are really nice and they have pretty big selection. I think they just received their first shipment so it's a pretty neat to see everything in two cases. They happily let me try on any piece I wanted from the DSTOM to the RG Tresor. I'm not one promote ADs but these guys seem really down to earth and would welcome any of WISs. They were even gracious enough to give me an Omega hat!If you're in the area, I definitely recommend checking them out.
