I was flattered by this article on DeepGlamour.net. The article mentioned me a few times and included a few quotes. Randall at DeepGlamour.net had an idea to comment on the effect that watches have on people and their image aside from style. I chose this image of Alexander the Great to sum up his sentiments on what certain watches are all about. The theme was discussing the concepts of "Status, Power, and Conquest" in relation to watches. You can read the article here, and I think you'll appreciate the gist of what he has to say. I feel honored that people either read my articles and get inspired or get inspired and stumble upon my articles. Although not the same era, here is a Roman inspired watch by Italian watch maker Zannetti watches. This model is called the Gladiatore Imperio. More DeVille info needed!
I posted a thread the other day about an Omega DeVille. Thanks to the Team for providing me much -needed information. I still have one question, however. Unlike the DeVille shown on the official Omega website (detachable leather band), my watch is an integralbraided gold bracelet and florentined gold case all made into one piece. The clasp has the Omega logo and also some hallmarks and what appears to be "55%" just below them. I thought this might indicate some carat of gold, but the stainless case back states "20 micron gold plating". What I would like to know isare these integral watches any more collectible than the plain leather banded ones? Were lots of them made, or were they special order? Thanks in advance! Jack

When did the 5980 get a silicon balance spring?
Does anyone know when the balance spring changed from Breguet to Spiromax? I've got a very late 2013 5980/1a and wondered whether this would have the silicon balance spring?

Insight from owners of the 5726A or 5164A
I was traveling on business over the past few days and so of course, popped into a local PP dealer. I was really looking to try on a 5164A (or even a 5167A just to see how it looks on the wrist) as the travel time is a piece that has really caught my attention. They didn't have any Aquanaut models but they did have the 5726A. I assumed that everything in the Nautilus line would always feel too big (as I felt the 5711 was big for me) but this really had a smaller feel, which I liked. It sat lower on the wrist and maybe the leather strap helped take some of the heft and slimmed down the profile.I know, 2 totally different complications and watches all together, but wanted to get some insight from owners of either. Or for the lucky, owners of both!!! I do travel some so the GMT function would be useful, but an annual calendar is just a great complication to have/use all the time (and a moon phase to add!).Torn...
