She was hired as a scientific consultant by the south-Asian microchip factory last September, after the engineers discovered the trail of uncanny performances by the ¡°Perfect Five¡± batch of microprocessors. 9 month review of the Tissot Luxury Automatic with the Powermatic 80 movement
I'm going to keep this review short and sweet and focus on accuracy and the power reserve.Like most of you, I rotate through my collection and most of my watches get worn only a few times a month. Combine that with a job that requires a beater watch, wrist time is at a minimum.In that vein, up to now, I've never really tested the accuracy and power reserve claims of this watch.In the past, when I tried, I either didn't wind it enough or I forgot to check on it, or even worse, I couldn't remember when I set it.-The official name for the movement is the ETA CO7.111, aka, the Powermatic 80. As its name implies, it is supposed to have a power reserve of 80 hours.To create that power reserve at an affordable price, ETA removed 2 jewels and reduced the bph to 21,600. Additionally, the escapement was made with a synthetic material to reduce friction, and the barrel arbor core was reduced in size to increase the mainspring power reserve.So, I wound the watch 70 times and set it at 10 pm on F

Movada changing its face?
Admittedly I am not familiar with Movado; however, I just saw an advertisement in (I believe it was SI, 1 DEC) a magazine, and the Movado had a face, with some sub dials, and a date at the 4 position. Are they changing their tune? Or has anyone else seen this?
