Daytona or Speedy...A Friendly Comparison..
I thought I postd this in the old Forum, but I couldn't find it again in responce to another post...In any event, I think that it's worth another look:Two of the icons in the chronograph world, and two of the most collected, are the Rolex Daytona Cosmograph and the Omega Speedmaster.So, let's take a look at 'em:Both of these fine time-pieces are Swiss Made:But you would expect that the timepieces we seek are Swiss Made...so let's look further.Speedy first. The Omega Speedmaster was introduced in 1957 and became an almost instant hit, popular with the fledging hot-rodders of the day who were interested in timing their road and drag racing, which the Speedy did with only minor calculations using its excellent Tachymetre bezel. Just reading the script on the dial and you knew this was a serious watch. It's classic and immediately recognizable by all true watch enthusiasts::Speedies were fitted with the excellent Lemania movements, and the object of this discussion has the latest 1861/1

Omegamatic Seamaster
Hello Everyone I purchased a Seamaster Omegamatic about 10 years ago. Best watch I've ever had It's a very accurate time piece gaining 25 secs over 12 months and as I am in water a lot it has been a great companion. I take it off my wrist at night before I go to bed and for the very first time when I awoke three days ago it's power was failing: the second sweep was stalling and then would jump four or five seconds and repeat this process. I gave it a few shakes and the second sweep returned to normal. When I woke this morning the watch had stopped at 1.30am. After re-setting the time and giving it a few shakes it was back to normal again. Does the capacitor last indefinitely or is this an indication that it needs to be replaced? Can anyone advise me?

Seiko 7002 Diver help
Having recently made the mistake of purchasing a "genuine" Seiko 7000-7002 diver from the Philippines I have discovered that the date change wheel was not operating correctly. So taking the brave step of looking into why (I am totally comfortable with Seiko Quartz watches but there's something about a mechanical movement that makes me apprehensive - all those moving parts I guess and no electronics!).Anyway i quickly found the fault lies with the Intermediate date wheel being chewed. I would have expected this particular wheel to be similar to the others in the train and so would be made of metal, but this one is made of plastic so can only assume the original was lost or damaged and the plastic one was a 'quick fix'.So my question is, can anyone confirm whether this should be a metal or plastic component and also can anyone suggest where I could pick up a replacement?Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you can assist.

44mm SS Novelty 26400SO thoughts.
I traded my only AP (26320) 6 months back and focused on collecting Rolex however I'm on the verge of coming back and trading my DSSD for SS/ceramic Novelty. Not a fan of the rubber strap but will order a GP in a few weeks and despite it's larger size,( incidentally I intended to go down a notch despite flirting with the idea of YMII) I'm actually looking forward to it. I have a few week wait until it's here but looking for wrist shots and assurances that this is a good move for me.Any owners out there willing to give their thoughts?

Problem with Omega 3510.50 automatic speedmaster
hi,i have an omega 3510.50 automatic speedmasterwhen you shake it or manual wind the watch, everything runs properlybut sometimes the minute and the hour hand stop and the second keeps runing,so the second is running but the two other hands don't move any more ...can you help me?
