I haven't covered the watch brand Dent in quite some time, but wanted to bring your attention to this attractive chronograph model made by the brand whose name goes back to the maker of London's Big Ben clock. This piece is called the Dent Ministry Chronograph, and while not a totally original design, is very well-proportioned and attractive. The Ministry is a larger range collection for the brand with at least three different model types. The chronograph model has a 43mm wide case with a thick sloped bezel and case. There are rings engraved into the side of the case to help reduce visual mass, and the square chronograph pushers help even out the look. The Ministry Chronograph dial is almost minimalist, but in a very elegant way. The design is good, offering key elements of style without going overboard. The dials of course are inspired by classic Dent pocket watches. This is essentially a sport watch in a sport jacket. The large, legible dial nevertheless has applied Roman numerals and
It is safe to say we are not thrilled with the 2008 new models so let's offer our 2 cents to Hamilton as to what we would like to see, in case there will be some 20081/2 watches introduced. For me, I would love a 38-40mm US release Piping Rock.
GQ recently called black on black watches a hot trend. What do you think? Here to stay?It must be hot right now if Pitt is a believer. He was seen wearing a Panerai Radomir Black Seal over the weekend. Full Blog Here.
My Speedy had been a bit neglected over the past 12 months, probably only seeing a day or 2 of wrist time a month. Nothing wrong with it, I'm just a little heavy on black face watches. Wanting to change things, I set about doing a Mitsukoshi conversion on my 3570.50 purchased in 2014.Tracked down the parts on eBay and found out TRF member afoz02 was listing a dial and full hands set. Great guy to deal with, very responsive an honest.I sent the project out to my local maker who initially ran into some fit issue. The dial was way off center and the subdial hands not fitting. Worried I have purchased the wrong parts, I spend 2 days scouring the web and even speaking to a C21 watchsmith for clarification that I had the right parts. Turns out I did and that the issues my watchmaker was running into were fairly common. After some great advice I was able to persuade my chap to re-attempt the conversion. SUCCESS!Picked it up last week and was blown away. Like many who have done this conversion
