My first Omega SMP - need advice
Hi all, I am quite new to this forum. I have been a passive (reader only) member of this forum, but now that I am about to buy my first watch, I need personal advice and experiences. I read through almost all the threads about SMPs here.I will have to choose between 2221.80 and 2220.80.My questions are:1.) Quartz or automatic? A, I know the general pros and cons (value, the quartz is more prcise etc). I was just wondering how easy it is to cause damage to an automatic watch? E.g. If it falls.B, Magnetic fields - We have many different wireless networks where I work, also in our living room we have expensve hifi equippment with huge speakers and so on. How much damage can it cause to the watch? (i know that it is "anti magnetic", but what are your experiences?)C, How much more hassle is an automatic than a quartz? E.g. I heard that the actual power reserve is far from the 42+ hours stated in the manual. I read about a guy who used it for 8 hours every working day and he placed it onto h

Hi There...1st post!!I have had my Chronomat Evolution for 5 years and would like to have watch and stainless steel strap polished. Anyone recommend anywhere in UK and approx what this would cost??Ps Watch is in great condition but just want to polish out very minor scratches on strap?

Are diamonds in vintage dealer add-on bezels larger?
First, hats off to Crown Collection for his consistently great contributions, furthering our collective knowledge on some arcane topics.In his thread in the reference section about authenticating diamond bezels, he discusses the diamond bezels that Rolex dealers stocked to up-sell customers. Specifically,18000 series men¡¯s day- date ¨C 44 brilliants set in yellow gold (part code MBZ4488)44 brilliants set in platinum (part code MBZ4466). 46 brilliants set in white gold (part code MBZ4690)My question is, did these bezels have larger stones than the standard factory bezels (that would have come on a 18348 for example)? Or, in the case of the white metal bezels on YG watches, is it just an optical illusion that the diamonds are larger?Thank you.
