Hi All, New to the world of Vintage watches and I am trying to find a Bezel and crystal kit for my 8229-602A. Can anyone steer me in the right direction. It is currently in being restored but the bits Ineed are rare as rocking horse st.
After a good suggestion by Rusty about what to do with the funds from my eBay sale that went much higher than expected, I went on the hunt again. I'm in the midst of changing a few priorities in my collection, and one mistake I had to rectify was the lack of a top-notch vintage Hamilton. I'm looking more for popular solid gold models pre-1970. I just won a StormKing 14K solid gold for a great price, and it's in fantastic shape. It's from the same dealer I purchased my recent Elgin so I know it's in as good or better shape than described. I sent the link to my watchmaker and he said he really liked it - then gave me the business end. He said he would consider it a bargain at $400 (and you know he's looking at it from a margin/resale standpoint) and I got it for just a little more. I've been VERY lucky lately, and I'm hoping it holds out for one more deal in the works. Cross your fingers for me and look for a post titled "Anyone for Pie?" thread in the next few weeks. I'll post
Well I was thinking whats the one brand/style of watch that just really holds that soft spot in your heart, the one that all the other's in your collection are almost based off of? for me it's diver and tool watches, it started with my invicta grand diver and rolled over into my russian divers. I like the "purpose" built dive wach, and tool watches. What really does it for you?
can anyone identify this?
