Found this on the Dutch Rolex Forum, thought it would be interesting to share here..[...] The first thing you'll notice about this watch that makes it different from all other Comex Rolexes is that it's a GMT, not a Submariner or Sea-Dweller, meaning it is NOT a diving watch. Comex is, after all, the deep sea diving group that works with all off-shore oil companies, so it makes sense their watches would be divers. The other attribute you'll notice is missing on this Comex GMT is the name "COMEX" on the face. Having that name on the face of your Rolex is half the fun of owning a piece from this diving company; it acts as a secret seal that identifies you to other real watch fans as someone who "gets it".However, having a Comex Rolex without the name on the front might be even more fun when talking to real watch guys, although it won't get you noticed quite as quickly when you're out and about.Anyways, we digress. Just Got this Lord Elgin, but what do I have?
I've seen this model before, but I can't seem to find it among the Elgin ads (there is the Crestwood, I think, that has a diamond dial, but it has a different case that is either in gold or white gold). Anyone have a name to attach to this watch?I haven't had a chance to clean it, but all in all, it is in very nice shape.It has the 23 jewel 730 movement.A stainless steel case, number 9588.Durapower, shockproof, anti-magnetic.And of course, the silver dial with diamond accents.With a little TLC to the case and crystal, it should really shine.BTW, should I add a black leather strap to it to liven it it?

My friends father years ago owned a Corvette and when complimented by a Business acquaintance who happened to be a Women who unbeknownst to him also owned one. His mistake was to say " its not a Machine for Women". Big regret! Any Horology Stories of Women calling the Man "Grasshopper"?

My new GMT II Pep-Z
Awhile back, I had posted that I had helped out a friend and bought his Yachtmaster. Well, I paid, he shipped and the USPS - LOST it. Yup. Gone.We tracked it using the Delivery Confirmation to the Atlanta processing facility. That's been well over 2 weeks now. He's refunded my money and filed a claim with the USPS for the loss (it was insured).I had my heart set on getting my second Rolex and so, I eventually got a pretty good deal for a mint 2007 GMT II Pepsi bezel. It was between that or a new Explorer II, but since the Pepsi is no longer in production, I went with the Pep-Z.It was delivered yesterday and I've posted the pics in the Rolex forum.
