I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jeff Stein and his OnTheDash is something really special in the vintage Heuer community. It is, without a doubt, the thought-leader in the space, full of honest (rare in the watch world) assessments and analysis of the ever growing culture of vintage Heuer chronographs. Today, Mr. Stein has published a fascinating look at the Autavia, in all its incarnations, with glances at differentiating specific models, which are most collectible and why, famous wearers of the Autavia, and pricing trends. The seller says it's NOS, which it probably was when he bought it. If you look at the condition of the sticker on the back you can tell it's seem some wrist time though. Here's how the sticker on the back of mine looked the day I got it:So, what do you think the ending price will be? If you say $1220, then you're covered from $1220.00 to $1229.99 - so there's no "Price is Right"-style outbidding somebody by $1. I obviously can't play because (1) I'm too familiar with the watch and (2) I'm the 'host' of this game show. We'll let the guessing continue until there's 24 hours left. As soon as the timer on the eBay auction goes into red and shows the hours & minutes there will be no more posts accepted. One guess per entrant!

Fellas (and ladies), Thank You so much for all the information and advice/tips re everything Rolex.....I have been on the Omega Discussion Board of this site (and another!) at the same time and have finally decided to go OMEGA - Planet Ocean to be exact...(just whch one????????) Lost the love for my BLRO (and it was very similar to my Smurf anyway so I figured it kinda silly to have two WG Sports models anyway) so I flipped it for this.It¡¯s the Rose Gold and ¡®Olive¡¯ (or ¡®snotburst¡¯ as my mate calls it!) dial, Day Date 40 model 228235.Absolute change of direction for me and my collection but while it¡¯s undoubtedly the ¡®dressiest¡¯ watch I¡¯ve ever owned it also feels surprisingly ¡®sporty¡¯ on the wrist and it¡¯s not quite as ¡®in your face¡¯ as it¡¯s YG siblings.Dial and the bracelet really are works of art IMO....

GMT 2 Question
Not being familiar with GMT's as I am with the DJ's, I am curious if Rolex made a 16713 with a champagne serti dial .... Diamond and ruby markers. I do believe such a dial was available on a solid gold model, but I'm not sure about the two tones. Thanks, Robbie
