You don't often see watches like this in pairs, but up on eBay for sale are a couple of 18k gold Kobold Polar Surveyor watches. One is all gold with the lovely metallic blue Kobold face, and other other is gold with a alligator strap and a black face. The bands are obviously interchangeable. Kobold watches are rare in the watch world for being an American company. Based out of Philadelphia, they use mostly swiss components are designed to be very rugged and functional. Knowing their upmarket appeal, Kobold does offer some of its pieces in gold as these two are.A Kobold watch is meant to be fully functional and reliable and deep depths, and very cold temperatures. It's been some time since we reviewed a Seiko on worn&wound, which is a shame because Seiko is one of our favorite brands. As long time readers may recall, we've reviewed a number of Seiko's including two from their Seiko 5 line, the SNK military field watch and SNZH diver, both of which have quite a following from the watch nerd community. New Velatura Automatic Chrono

Went to buy a Milgauss GV, came home with this instead...
Last friday I decided to do some watch shopping. In the crosshairs was the Milgauss GV, Daytona or a Datejust II. At the rolex AD the GV and Daytona fell flat for me, they just didn't get my pulse racing like they should at that price. The DJII was surprisingly amazing, with black stick dial and fluted WG bezel it was a vision of classic beauty with a modern twist. I left the AD thinking I would just grab some lunch, hit the other Omega AD, and go back for the DJII. Well I made the mistake of asking the Omega AD if he had a Ploprof, and you bet they did, with extra orange strap. It was love at first sight and there was no question that I had to have this watch. It was a feast for the eyes, and a pleasure to handle and wear. Truly a superb piece, that holds its own against the Deepsea. I wouldn't say it is equal to the Deepsea, but its very close in quality and refinement, with a rich history to back it up. Enjoy the pics, I'm loving this piece.

Warranty Policy: NYC vs Dallas
So trying to make a long story short I purchased a Oyster Perpetual about a year ago from a great seller here on TRF with warranty card included, though obviously with someone else's name on it.The watch doesn't wind anymore just simply starts turning the minute and hour hands so obviously a mechanical problem. No fault of the seller's nor myself.I took the watch to the NYC Service Center and they said the warranty was not valid because my name was not on the warranty card and I would need a bill of sale from the person who's name was on the card from the purchase at the AD.I then called them today (without saying I had been there day before obviously) with a hypothetical of having been gifted the watch and having everything for the watch other than the bill of sale and they said it would not be covered under warranty unless I had a letter from the person who's name is on the warranty card. So basically the same BS.Finally just to see if the stories I read on TRF were true I called the
