IWC Ref. 810A , EDELSTAHL wrist watches news:
What do Paul Newman, James Bond, and Jean-Claude Killy have in common? In addition to being pop-culture icons, each is famously associated with a particular model of Rolex watch. And each of these models will be represented this week at Antiquorum‘s auction of vintage and modern timepieces.Antiquorum, the world’s leading auctioneer of fine watches, holds its last auction of the year on December 13 at its U.S. headquarters in New York City. There will be 340 modern and vintage timepieces offered, led by a number of valuable Rolex models.Among the headline pieces is a Rolex Ref. 6241 Daytona in yellow gold; this reference is well-known to collectors as a rare “Paul Newman” model, distinguished by its dial design, which derived its name from the fact that it was the watch the famous actor wore regularly once he began his hobby of automobile racing. Made in the 1960s, this watch is a round-button chronograph with the reference’s distinctive cross-hair subdials
On March 10, Antiquorum Auctioneers will offer a range of important modern and vintage timepieces at its U.S. headquarters on Madison Avenue in New York City. The sale will include a unique yellow-gold Patek Philippe ref. 2419 minute-repeating wristwatch retailed by Cartier in 1950. This timepiece is accompanied by a Cartier certificate of authenticity. The Patek minute repeater is estimated at $300,000 to $500,000.The wristwatch is offered in pristine condition and its originality is confirmed by the Patek Philippe extract of the archives which states that the watch was manufactured in 1946 as a minute-repeating wristwatch with a specially made movement. Additionally, the wristwatch is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Cartier that confirms that the wristwatch was retailed by Cartier New York. The watch was consigned by the family of the original owner, a prominent New York businessman. It was custom ordered at a Patek Philippe exhibition held by Cartier in New York, wi
Hi,Today my mom and dad showed up with two watches they found in my grandma's house (she just moved to a retirement home). They came to me first because they know I love watches and because I know more about watches than them (which is still almost nothing). The first one is an Omega Gen¨¦ve ladies watchand that's about as much as I can tell from just looking at it; no serial numbers whatsoever. I did wind it so it is a automatic watch (or a winding watch? I will get back on that with the second watch). If anyone can tell me anything about this watch it would be great! The second one is easier to identify. It is a Certina Automatic Blue Ribbon men's watch. There are some numbers on the back but I don't know which ones are serial numbers and whether or not it's safe to put them online (I've got no experience on this...). I guess I can tell you the first (of two) lines: it's 5809-170. The second line consists of six numbers. The funny thing is that it says it is an automatic watch but I don
