As anyone who owns a Patek knows. The Alligator straps only last a few years at best.My question is this. Have any of you sought other companies to make custom straps for you? What are your opinions? . Im curious as Ive only purchased straps from Patek and sometimes they are limited in what they have in stock. Has anyone had custom straps made and have they been as good as the ones you buy directly from Patel ?thanks
I was at a local AD and saw a Tag Heuer Aquaracer Automatic on sale at 40% off list. The sales pirce after the discount is $1,380...this is the watch (WAF2011.BA0818). I rarely see this sort of discount on a Tag Heuer from an AD. Also, they had an Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph at 40% off (2210.51.00), the price after the discount was $3,700. Again, rarely see these at 40% off. I am just looking for thoughts on if these are good prices for these watches and if anybody has these watches and can provide their opinion of them. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
Hello all, I am hoping that someone may be able to give me some guidance regarding selling a Rolex DateJust that I just received as a gift. The watch is 36mm, two tone gold and silver with a Jubilee band, white face with Roman numerals. I received it a few days ago as a gift from my company and it's still nesteled in it's box. While it's beautiful, it's not my style and I am interested in trading it in for a different model. Here's the rub...the watch's back has been inscribed with my company name and the warranty card is filled out. I contacted the jeweler that my company bought it from and they told me that the watch is a list price of $9,300, but is now considered "used" because of the inscription and warranty being filled out. They offered me $4,500. I am thinking of putting a new back on the watch that does not have an inscription, but don't know if that will help me or not in getting more $ for it. I don't want to be taken advantage of and don't know what the best course
