Locman Manages To Combine An Aviator Watch And A Dive Watch With the Marina Militare Automatic: Fashionable
Aren't you just a tad bit surprised that you haven't seem more watches like this before? People LOVE diver watches, they LOVE aviator watches: couldn't they just combine the two affections into one uber watch? Well Locman tried to do just that with the new Locman Marina Militare Automatic. There is also a chronograph version, but it is a quartz movement.Locman, being Italian of course had to give the watch an Italian name. But did they have to just take something right from Panerai? I know Marina Militare is just Italian for Navy, but most people don't know that. All I am saying is that people are gonna get a bit confused as to what this watch is all about. At least it doesn't look like a Panerai. Really, the only thing "Navy" about this watch is the emblem from a Italian Naval Academy in Livorno. The Real (High) Cost of owning a Rolex
Imagine my surprise to look down at my two tone GMT - MASTER II Rolex for the time and see it naked and missing the Bezel. It was there an hour earlier and I really did not remember banging into anything. Fast forward, took it to Kern's in Burlingame, CA where I purchased it a few short years ago for a repair estimate. They said it had to be sent to Rolex, No Prob. Then even more surprising than ever was the phone call a week later to learn It would be a whopping $1900 to put on a new Bezel....That would include an internal service of $900 and $1000 for the Gold Bezel. Both prices seem, well, Surprising!! If I knew that buying a new rim for my car would cost me 1/4 the price of the whole car, i'd probably pick a different car.....

Hamilton 619 / Buren 1009?
Just got a Thin O Matic with a 619 movement in it, which purportedly a Buren 1009. Ranfft has no information on either of these movements and I can't find anything about them other than what is in the first sentence of this post. Anyone know anything? Dates of manufacture, frequency, etc...TIA

Hamilton 940 Pocket watch 14K
I haven't been able to find much information on a hamilton pocket watch I inherited. It's a 940, adjusted 5 position, 14 karat yellow gold case, 21 jewel, serial #594063 on the movement. The case # is 4987196 K.W.C. company. I would like to find some history and approximate value on this pocket watch. Can someone steer me in the right direction.

Pseudo Official Yacht Master Appreciation Thread
An earlier post got me thinking. I know the YM to some is the read headed step child but for some it is a grail. Please feel free to share your YM pics and comments BTW, I am a former owner of a SS Plat YM. I wish I had never sold it. I am not on the hunt for another, but I cant make up my mind between the older one with the sparkly Plat dial or the Dark Rhodium with the blue accents.
