A guy I know claims that when buying a watch, the ultimate decision rest with what the DIAL looks like. Do you agree?And what characteristics of a dial do you like most?For me, it is probably the color that grabs my attention, then readability, and then finally, it is the balance of all the elements on the dial. I find the Hamiltons by and large have most of what I like.

Is this hamilton vietnam military a fake?
Hey guys, this is my first time posting on these forums, but I've been lurking for a while. I just started getting into watches a few months ago and since then I've purchased a Tissot, Skagen and a Torgeon, all between the 250-500 range. I'm interested in a military watch with an olive green band and I thought I found one that I liked on ebay. After doing some research, I'm pretty sure the case is original but the dial on the watch face is fake, I've never seen a stamped hamilton two diamond logo on the cover before.Now I'm just a 28 year old watch novice so what do I know. I did some searching and found bits of information here and there, but I was wondering if anyone of the experts here can lend a hand. Thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to hanging around here alot more. Vietnam war era military wrist watch Hamilton . P.S.- If you guys know of any other watches that fit this style, please recommend them! My price range is between 250-500 dollars, thanks :)-Stergios

Lloyd's a big guy for a lady
My Khaki Field Auto was my choice for today, but when I set it and wound it, it wouldn't work. The second hand stayed where it was (and yes, I pushed the crown back in). So wife and I went to the AD and he sent it off under warranty for repair (and to slow it down a bit). Meantime, Herself spotted this big Lloyd chrono with four garnets (I call them UT burnt orange), and she got a heck of a deal on it. It's a man-sized watch and with another band, I figure I can borrow it from time to time. Here are some shots right out of the box (I didn't even bother to wipe her handling marks off) to give you a brief "review:"Notice the pinstripe effect on the dial - hard to photograph because of the domed crystalSide-by-side with my Erard, which is in a 40.3mm case (without crown)

Planet Ocean rubber strap installation tips.
For the sake of the forum I tried to figure out why so many of you are having issues installing your PO rubber strap.O.K here is what I came up with. I tried installing the rubber strap with a new set of spring bars. It was a bear!!!! I see what some of you are having problems with. First of all you need the correct spring bars in the diameter 1.78mm. This is a double shoulder spring bar in size 22mm for the 45.5mm Planet ocean. You can use a single shoulder spring bar as long as you have a good spring bar tool with a small sharp forked end. Omega has both in the correct size.. (See pic below) I want you to first test fit your spring bars without the strap. Try it and see how easy they fit in the holes of the lugs. The PO has very small holes drilled into the lugs. Some after market spring bars have a larger nipple end and it may not slip easily into the holes of the lugs. Either buy other spring bars or file the end diameter of the ends (just the very ends)of each spring bars. Once yo
