IWC IWC 16119 wrist watches news:
I am often asked if there are any watches being made today that I would deem collectible in the long run. While the every day answer would be, “no, at least not in the same way that vintage watches are collectible” there are some exceptions. We are in something of a renaissance of watchmaking, with new materials abound, millions of dollars in R&D budgets, amazing technology, and more appetite for mechanical timepieces than ever before. So there are bound to be some watches that we'll look back at and say, "Yup, that was special."Here are three modern watches, all made within the last four years, that I genuinely believe have a chance at being collectible down the road, all for sale in Antiquorum’s sale next week. A. Lange & Sohne Grand Lange 1 Lumen 1 OF 3 There aren’t many young brands that have attracted the eye of serious watch collectors like Lange – and their limited edition stuff, even more so. So what are you wearing today? My Benrus "mystery dial" from the 50's for me today -
In 1970 Hamilton introduced the first digital watch. As it turned out, the announcement was premature. This placed the company in a position to advertise a non-existent product! They scrambled to get pieces to build the watches from many places....they went with LED (you have to push a button to read it)...in order to be first on the market...they introduced Pulsar in 1972 and for a short time were a success. When LCD technology took over LED was gone.In honor of Hamilton being the first, how about a picture of your digital watch/watches.
The Speedmaster is quickly becoming one of my most desired watches. I dont think any other watch has both the history and mystique of the Speedy. What is more epic than going to the moon after all? How about some wrist shots !? They are hard to come by it seems. Its such a popular timepiece and I cant seem to find many shots of it on the wrist online. Im going later in the week to try one on myself at a local AD, its been a couple of years since I tried one on for size. Until then wet my appetite !
Saw this 5712r on some weird shaped bracelet but at least you can see how it would look..rockefellers.co.uk/watche...nautilus-5712r
