Invicta 17492 wrist watches news:
I normally avoid shopping malls like the plague, but I had to venture into one today because that's where the Apple Store is located.I may have to go to the mall more often:
Hey guys !There are your regular Elgin Trench Watches (which are very nice in their own right) and then there are ones that we dream about !This one being the latter.......................This is by far the most solid gold that I've ever seen on an Elgin Trench Watch ! ! !Plus, it has one of the most sought after and rarest American movements ever manufactured. This is a 1915 Elgin Trench Trench Watch that has a 14k SOLID GOLD case made by the Illinois Watch Case Company.14k solid gold Illinois Trench Watch Cases are VERY rare, you simply do not not many of them.On the movement: the center wheel, raised jewel chatons and balance wheel screws are all made of SOLID GOLD.Oh yeah, the buckle on the strap is also made of 14k SOLID GOLD.From 1914 through 1933 Elgin manufactured about 2,000,000 (2 million) size 3/0s movements.Out of these 2,000,000 movements only 500 of them were made with 17 jewels, all the rest had 7 jewels or 15 jewels. So, if you break down the numbers only 1/4 of 1% were m
My dad gave me this watch about 15 years ago. I found it again yesterday and decided to remove the stiff gold filled bracelet in favor of a lizard in dark burgundy @ 18mm. I asked my dad about it last night. He believes it was a gift to him from his employer, but does not recall if he got it in the 1950's or 1960's. Can you tell what decade this watch came out? If you need me to open up the case to look at the movement just let me know. Thanks, Andy
I am looking at my next move and as a lot of you can't take the diver out of my mind, just not sure with the size, anyone has a side by side witn a 15400 or an Exp 2 with a diver?TksSimon
Hi guys,I've been chewing this over for a while now and would appreciate any input. Of the 5296 I'm certain that it would be the R non-sector version, I love the clean lines, applied indices and class of a watch that really doesn't shout but whispers class (poetic licence there, sorry). I'm also attracted to the idea of new. For around similar money a pre owned 5146 is also possible, but on this on not sure if which variant. I wanted a gold watch but the white gold G version seems a better combination than the R. This would probably be my last big watch purchase ( I'm sure that's been said a million times before) so I don't want to get it wrong. Fwiw I'm lucky enough to have a blue dial 5711 so this would be a companion piece that I would probably wear more often.Any thoughts or suggestions welcome
